Sunday night – Happy Mother’s Day

Beautiful mothers day here.. for our beautiful mom and wife  Diane. She is such a great Mom.. We love her so much !

Gabe came by this morning and we had our traditional pink fish breakfast

gabe and I had met earlier at Paquette’s to get Diane some plants.. It’s something I did with all three boys for the last 20 something years.

brought back  great memories.

Today we got impatience, peonies, a few loose flowers and a bunch of herbs

We also got a clematis which we’re planting behind Sam’s memorial stone outside. It’s in memory of Diane’s mom Marcia who died this January. She and Sam were  very much on our minds today.

Spoke with my mom too.. She’s out in Minneapolis.. We’ll see her next week for Gabe’s graduation.

We’re grateful for our moms and all the other moms out there.. it’s a tough job !.. We appreciate all you do !

Gabe and I were happy to help Diane in the gardens and yard today. It fel tgood to do stuff outside.

I cut the grass while they planted and mulched.

Just as I was finishing the lawn Jill and Jody  drove by. Jody is our late friend Puckets mom..a nd Jill is his granmother.

it was really nice seeign them

Tonight we grabbed diiner out and went to a movie. Avengers Infinity Wars.. Still trying to figure it out..

Happy mothers day everyone !

Saturday night – Fern gully

Near perfect day.. Temps in the 50’s nearly no bugs and bright sun.

Just before dinenr we took the dogs on a walk to Barlow beech. I’d been wanting to share some pictures of the  ferns on the river-shore.

this was barrent land just abootu 2 weeks ago.. now the ferns are nearly waist high. It’s so maazing to see them unfurl

.. every detail of the plant initially compressed in the tiny fiddlehead as it pushes through the new;y thawed grownd.

nauture is so beutiful and amazing

we sat on Barlow beech while the dogs played. We saw a herron here this morning.. he’d flownaway soemtime in the day

chai just loves the water

nice view of our house back from the beech. so cool this is so near our home

ok.. thats it for now.. happy pre-mothers day everyone

Friday night – Visteme despacio que tengo prisa !

I was working with a good friend of mine today. He’s from Uruguay.. after 2 hours at a task, I got impatient and tried to hurry things up.. He said..

“Visteme despacio que tengo prisa !” (Dress me slowly, I’m in a hurry).. he told me it was from Miguel Cervantes.. the author of Don Quixote.. I looked it up.. some say Cervantes, some say Napolean said it.. otheres say it might be one of 2 kings of Spain.. In any case. it’s a funny saying..

It means it always makes sense to take the time to prepare.. .. It’s a bit like the enlgish ‘Haste makes waste”..

I got his point.. and we finsihed slowly and carefully..

Just like mother nature and the beutiful Trillum’s we saw on our run this morning !
