Crazy day, crazy week.. so busy with work. I did get soem time after work today to hang out with my freind Jake at Generator, He’s a
genius when it comes to 3d modeling and 3d printing. Jake’s helping me with the next revision for the S-port device we’re developing to protect our young friend Storm’s chemotherapy port while he plays sports.
Lynn and I made the first version using a thermoplastic I hand molded. . it’s light.. but needed to be pretty thick to get the strength we need.. It worked for Storm, but it wasn’t comfortable. Storms dad Matt build a model of a new design by hand using heat setting Skulpy clay.. it’s not strong enough to wear.. btut it gave me an idea of the size and shape they wayted.. .. It looks liek this,.
kast night Jake and I sat down and started drawing it in Fusion.. Jake woke up in the middle of the night and redid it.. so it was ready to print today,. here’s a quick look at the 3d model he made.. Its abot 10cm by 7 cm.
we’re priniting it now in plane old PLA to check it out for size and fit.. then we’ll print it in our new carbon impregnated PLA.. it’s be really strong and light !
thanks for your great help Jake !!!
note all, nite sam
