We had a really wonderful Thanksgiving week in Santa Fe with Max Becky and gabe. That included an overnight flight home.We arrived in Albany about 330 this morning. Diane was the wonderful driver back home while I snoozed. We got home around 7:30 and probably both fell back to sleep. That set the tone for a very lazy day. Our one venture out ways to take the dogs for a walk by the river sure. It had been raining but there was still a ton of snow.

Cleaning out bathe fridge i realized we were living dangerously!

Now trying to say awake long enough to pretend to have been awake for at least part of the day 🙂

On our way home from a really wonderful trip to be with Gabe, Max and Becky at Max and Becky’s  new place near SantaFe.. It’s been a super fun and relaxing trip.. lots of outdoor hiking, running.. some great meals.. and verreally y nice hanging out. Their place is really magical.. out in  the woods in a super beutiful canyon. Lots  of interesting things on their propoerty.. quirky enough to be a gret place for max

 

today diane and I woke up early  and took Zora, the dog max and becky are dogsitting on a short run 

 

 

then a quick good bye to the house.. and off to harry’s for breakfast.. then albequerque 

 

look.. I’m glowing !

 

first stop there was Surplus city.. what an amazing place.. they had EVERYTHING !

next stop was petroglyph national monument.. about 2 miles of cool rock art from the last 1000 years

 

there qwere beutiful veiws from there 

 

from there we headed down tot eh Rio Grande to check that out.. there was a cute park there.. 

 

we ended up with a great dinner  at an  old 1930s converted roadside motel 

 

then a quick goodbye.. and max, becky and gabe headed back to santa fe, while diane and I headed to the airport 

 

now about to board our flight  back to albany.. then a 3:30 am drive home..

 

will be nice to get back to vermont..

We had a great slow day here in Santa Fe . Actually, we’re closer to Lami NM.

We woke early . Diane and I took Zora out for a run

The. I finished splitting wood for max and Becky

We all went out for a hike up the ridge line up the hill

We found a tiny crevice that we all climbed down in

We then drove I town to see meow woof . The very cool interactive experience place where Becky works. I’ve never seen anything like it . It was packed !

Tonight we went to see a very cool circus .. then walked around Santa Fe. Super nice place

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day here at Maks and Becky’s… Everyone (but me) woke up early to start in on the meal. Max smoked a turkey and some fish in there smoker… And that involves some early morning prep

Once that was done diane gabe and I Decided to go out for a run. We took Zora The dog that Max and Becky are sitting for

We took a 5 mile easy run on the trails towards the hidden Canyon… Is a great way to prepare for a big dinner

I realized I was wearing my father’s running shoes

The trail was beautiful high desert and lead to very beautiful canyon way out in the middle of nowhere. We put the samstone there

We got back to the house and each of us took some tasks

. Everybody else cooked but I chopped wood.

BY about 3 PM the meal really had come together. It was a great family effort

We sat down around 330 feeling very grateful

Soon after we started our friend Willa From Vermont stopped in and stayed for several hours… It was great seeing her… She was here in time for dinner around two and dessert

Rest of the evening we just cannot wait on the floor and work through dinner. We played Dixit. And now most of the family is down watching Kubo and the two strings.

I’m up ready for sleep… It’s been a long fun day

I’m sitting here thinking about all the friends we have who are with family but missing somebody. My heart goes out to All our friends and relatives who lost a loved one around this time of year. I don’t know what it is about Thanksgiving but it seems to be a marker for many people. You’re all in our thoughts
