Just getting around to posting pics from this weeks Hogsland kayak camping adventure.. Hogisland is an annual trip wiht my friends. many of them burnign man nuddies.. it’s such a good time. 

I actually did have cell signal out there.. I just didn’t want to spend time online blogging.. hope oyu forgive me..

 

day started with a wonderful sight.. the completely full dumptster was hauled away aroudn 6:30 in the morning. 

 

about 1:30 all my hogisland freinds.met up at  Bens to start gettign ready 

 

we mounted up and off we went to the lake 

 

we got to Kilcare about 3PM and I signed off of work.. we unloaded th boats and a ton of provisions. 

 

paddle boss John check out our gear.. he runs a tight  ship.. or actually 7 tight ships 

 

and we were off.. 

 

a mile or so later we landed at woods island, site 2.. same as the year before last. .. more thnan a mile off shore in all directions. 

 

 

first order of bisenss was to get the hand cranked blender goign for cocktails !

 

then John got the fire goign for dinner 

 

we had to collect a whole bunch of wood 

 

and a quick swim in the suprisingly warm water. 

then on with dinner !

then a lot of sitting and talkign untill a huge swarm of gnats chased us to our tents at 10:30…

Sun just set on our dumpster days.. we’ve just fillet up a 27 cubic foot dumpster with 59 years of accumulated junk. I’ts been an amazing archealogical journey into the lives of our family. lots of great memories.. some very sad memories. and a ton of stuff we’d forgotten we had. . We feel liek we can move aorund in our house again.. or at least in our attic. 

 

every bone in my body is tired.. bt happy 

 

did take a break today to prep for the next 3 days of kayak camping.. I ran into my campign buddies at SHaws today.. and wanted to get a picture of the prep 

 

later in the the evening we went over to Brad, lee and anne maries for a remembrance fire for our friend  pucket.. his birthday would have been  today

 

they have Sam’s picture on their fridge.

Diane and I spet the bulk of the day continuing to purge the house.. we threw   away about 43 yards of junk and we gave away three carloads  to goodwill and sold tons of stuffat the yard sale. the house is so much lighter

we even put a piano in the dumpster since we couldnt find it a home !

 

 

diane won the prize today when  she found $100 dollars in cash her parents had given to gabe when he was born,, 

it was unopened in a box of 23 year old mail !

 

around 6:30 we headed over to tatiana and ben’s for a Ligo celebration

Tatiana had cooked Plov .. a rice and lamb dish in a traditional Plov cooker

Our friends Henry, Mlan and Harry stopped by on the 4th for a great visit.. it was hot so we sat aroudn outside and went through books from the attic. At one point Henry pulls out a small satchel .. and opens it.. Inside is the coolest little drone .. a DGI Mavic pro.. it unfolds .. !
