Back down in Cambridge again.  . SPent time on Campus digging in to my new role. . As I woandered around I came across many thing that took me back to my time here 40 years ago.. like…

under these stairs is (or was) the isotope storage vault. It’s where I got the Americium 241 I used for my undergraduate thesis.   . Based on what I saw in that vault.. I’m not sure I’d ever want to sit on those stairs for long. 

Here’s one of the rooms in the Student center. I once gave blood here.. then passed out when I jumped up to helpe an older guy who was falling.. 

and here’s 10-250.. the site of many of my larger freshman classes.. the biggest lecture hall on camps I believe.

and here is the time/temp in Harvard square.. the first place I’d ever seen a thermometer read 0 degrees Franeeheit..

that was insanely cold for a guy from texas.. now it doesn’t phase me at all !

the reason I was in Harvard squre was to meet up with my freinds CHarles adn Heather.. 

THey just told me they’re getting married next year !!!!

Today is our wonderful Diane’s birthday.. it’s also april fools day and Easter.. The last time Easter was on APril 1st was 1945.. the next timew is in 2029 !. 

We made a good day of the rare confluence. We had a wonderful smoked salmon breakfast (with Easter candy) .. 

We gave Diane her birthday presents  hen went on a hike up Libbys lookout with the dogs. The snow is still pretty deep.. 

then back to the house for birthday cake.. Chocolate mouse cake from CHef’s Corners.. Diane’s favorite !

At 4 We headed to the Congregational CHurch (k ‘The COngo”) for a Sessions Americana concernt. It’ was SO good.. and kinda funny music for a church with soem of their songs (“Beertown”.. Does TIm have Weed” and I don’t want to be Born agaiN”.. DInty even did a shout out to diane for her birthday !

the show was really good. they played theoir encore out in the crowd. 

from there Diane and I headed to Balance Yoa for a Restoritive Yiga and Gong bath class.. it was really a nice way to end a busy day.. Lynn got a new Gong.. the three of them reall feill the place with unearthly sounds.. so did my snoring 🙂

Woke up thinking about our friend Dylan. He would have been 25 today. Dylan was a close friend of Sam’s and Gabes.. he died in 2011. Like Sam, Dylan’s strong organs went on to save others. He was an amazing guy.. funny, smart.. and an amazing athlete.   I took this picture after Dylan won the Gold in the USA Nationals freestyle event in Copper Colorado . Gabe and I were proud to have been with him there to see that . 

We miss you dylan.. hope all is fresh powder where ever you are !

Happy Pesach everyone.. .. I’m just home from boston tryign out my new commute again. I gotta say that the mega bus , while convienient, is not luxurious.. They could learn soemthing about custonmer service fro all those swank airport launges I hang out in. .. The seats are cramped, the bus is loaud.. but it gets me there for about $37 not bad.. 

got home wiht enough light out that we got to go in the woods. Still lots of snow up there, but melting quickly. 

THe creeks are all at flood stage with all the melting snow.. It’s amazing to listen to them.. 

ok.. time to go play pool wiht Diane..
