“the woods are lovely dark and deep.. and I have promises to keep: .. one of my favorite Robert Frost poems.. but today it was lovely brightand deep. We took the girls for a strenuous tromp throguh the preston pond loop. We wore crampons thinking that the snow would have been either gone or packed down. we were wrong. there were parts that we’re still more than kneww deep. It was slow going.. but so beautiful. The spring sun was so bright that it almost hurt to see. the snow was still soft and sparkly .. and so , so much of it !

Diane has been finishing production on a new batch of SamStones. It’s a cool process to watch. First the stones are hand shaped from clay .. then hand stamped on the front with Sam’s name and on back with the http://Samstones.org website.
after that they’re air dried for a few days . Then Diane hand inks Sam’s name using an iron oxide glaze. Thtss the part of the process Diane is doing the last couple of days.
then we take them over to Jen’s to be fired
we make about 300 per batch (I think).. and they go quickly

SO nice to wake up at home.. my first official act of the day was to sit down in front of the fire and scratch my dogs ears.. while doing that.. I noticed this cool heart shaped thing in the fire.. .. heart burn !
worked a good day.. then diane dragged me out to camels hump for a great ski in the deep snow.. it was packed so a bit fast.. but really nice.. we were just abotu the only ones tehre.. .. it was warm (near freezing).. so it was great spring skiing.

ahh.. got this from Max yesterday. He built this drumming robot for his freind Mat. I helped wih tthe code and mechatronics. .. I love working with him
Sitting in ohare on my way home from IBM THINK.. .. it was a really good conference.. lots of cool new stuff.. good energy.. and so many friends to reconnect with. One of the things I really love about this company is the huge range of people, places, skills and personalities in our … is it 400,000 people plus our clients and partners . ? .. this conference had something like 25,000 of them. I spent every waking hour out there catching up both technically and personally with my tribe.
I ended up takig it very easy out there .. mostly because of starting out with a stomach bug.. but kept the trend going for the whole week.. 7-8 hours of sleep a night, not much to drink .. ate lightly.. got a good run in.. . as a result I enjoyed vegas much more than usual..
