Monday night Dash rising waters

It rained all day today… That combined with the snowmelt has the river out of it’s banks. We’ve been watching it all day. So far it’s only come out into the field office at the house. The dogs didn’t know what to make of it

But I kept my eyes on it all day. This is what happened in 1992 when we got evacuated… But right now it looks safe.

Busy workday… But took an hour off to have lunch With my friend David. We planned a jolts and colts show for the Vermont deaf community. Last time we did it David did the whole thing in sign language. It was great… That’ll be this coming October

Later tonight Eliot and I went over to see my friend Chris… Eliot had never seen Chris’s artwork. So we had a good time playing with all the steam punk stuff

Also just checked in with Diane we’re still painting away in Portland. The place is looking really good

Now I’m getting pretty sleepy… Time for bed

No I’m not only practical thing I remember doing was checking the new gas lines on my flamethrower . Glad I checked… They were leaking!… See the soap bubbles? Those are all leaks

I got it tightened up and tested a new electronica firing system… So far so good

Nite all, nite Sam

Ps. I think I’m the only person I know not watching Game of Thrones… Too much violence for me… But I really and eager to hear what happens

Saturday night – data night

The dogs and I had a very quiet and very peaceful day here. Amazingly peaceful… I didn’t actually have anything I needed to do. I can’t remember the last time that happened that that that well… To be truthful, there were plenty of things I could have done… I just chose not to do that 🙂

It must’ve been the beautiful weather. It got up to 72°F. Crazy hot for this time of year. I went for 3 mile run and saw so much snow even though I was sweating like crazy… I guess spring is finally here !

This evening I decided to attend the Burlington women in data science conference at generator.… My friend Jane was organizing it so I thought it would be fun to see. It turned out to be such a great event. I new so many of the people in the room… But from so many different angles. It was mostly about machine learning and the local job market… It’s a surprise and labor robust and diverse community for such a small place.

Afterwords there was beer and pizza at Queen city brewery… Just a short walk away. Really great conversations with such a great group of people.

Now home with the doggies… Trying to stay awake. Guess I can’t really stay awake… So more tomorrow

Nite all, nite Sam

Friday night – gradschoolhouse

Today is a momentous day… If extended our kingdom!… Today gabe bought a house in Portland Oregon… We call it “gradschoolhouse”. In parallel with our “schoolhouse” You’re in Vermont. Gabe is buying it to live in while he’s in grad school at OHSU . It’s a cute small place on Belmont Street… Not far from where he’s living now. It’s going to be great for him

I was so proud of him and the rest of us for getting all of the stuff and order it it takes to buy house. Here he is at the signing moment

I caught myself thinking… Oh my gosh she’s so young to own a house… Then I realized that’s exactly the age I bought a house I live in today. Time is a funny thing…

Congratulations gabe !!!

Night all, night Sam
