Sunday night – soaking wet

I’m huddled over in the yoga space… Soaking wet. I almost went to bed without remembering to turn off the hose that’s filling the pool. It’s the middle of a thunderstorm and I realized it might get overfilled. I stopped just in time as it was about to spill over. Now I am standing in the rain waiting for it to pump itself back to a safe level

Kind of fun actually… The rain and lightning and thunder is pretty spectacular

Today was nice and peaceful… We went down to Panton

to check out A nursery that Diane likes down there… It’s a pretty crazy place but the prices are good

Dianne is working hard to get in all of her gardens…

That reminds me of this great picture I found of Sam

OK the pool must be ready… Or tomorrow

Nite all, nite Sam

Saturday night – HSH

Home sweet home!… Spent a very nice day just puttering around helping Diane garden. Are very old friend Sherri and her family were in from Alaska because their daughter lauren is graduating from UVM. It was so nice catching up with them… Nothing like friends from 35 years ago to bring back memories

Later tonight we went to our friend Uwe’s House for 100 birthday party… Uwe was turning 50 and his friend Giuliana was turning 50… It was fun being there because there were so many people from different part of Vermont… We didn’t know very many people which was fun

Uwe lives at a really cool place… It has some interesting features like this old tower

The view from up there is pretty cool

OK… Jetlagged is kicking in. More tomorrow

Nite all, nite Sam

Thursday night – Vermont Curry

Super busy and long (and fun) Day at Hakazaki. It started with a nice run along the river around 6 AM

We had an MIT – IBM client event here… And it was so much fun. I love hearing my colleagues talk about the cool stuff we’re doing. I found myself saying “managed be great to work there”… Always good to remind myself :-)Though I’ve been back to Japan many times in the last couple of years the last time any of us can remember me being in the lab was in 2011… (That can’t be right)…

In addition to all the cool people at the client event I ran into a Bazillion friends from Ibm Japan

The demos I was showing Ram well which was fun

After the event there was a nice reception then my friend Luka and another friend Rina Went to a great fish restaurant near work. My old friend satsumi Joined us… It was so great hanging out with the smart people

Later on my friend Kuse-San showed up… That was a nice surprise

Now I’m home and hoping to get some sleep… Before I went to sleep I talked to Diane. She just sent me this link about a mystery with dad. In Japan many people eat something called “Vermont Currie”… It’s incredibly popular all over the country. The question is why “Vermont”?…

The mystery is in here https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.sevendaysvt.com_vermont_why-2Dis-2Djapans-2Dmost-2Dpopular-2Dcurry-2Dcalled-2Dvermont-2Dcurry_Content-3Foid-3D27434116&d=DwMFaQ&c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&r=La09u5Cr9qz_Yqqc3IrqT6EDxY5SeZP_5dYw5QZPWU0&m=xb0svKZg-FFN3VG2cc_4mmaUUyNxD-Y-YV6jrDc1pfY&s=MW8UE1WTXavUwnqp1xxu63XlFYukOGOrrNQ2jYwRtLk&e=

OK… I can’t keep my eyes open anymore… Time to go to sleep

Ps I found this funny video that I made during a previous visit here several years ago… It’s a Japanese version of my engineer in paradise. Pretty strange and pretty funny. Check it out
