Just hr a nice dinner with our old friends Juergen and Luisa. I knew them from Germany.. but they lived in Burlington in the early 2000’s And we work together quite a bit.… They now live in Malta which sounds pretty cool. It was fun catching up on work stuff family stuff etc.… Lots of politics too
Earlier today I ran into my friend Erin and her two daughters. It was Eren’s birthday today!
Last night we had dinner at our friend Andy and Jennifers… With our friends Heather and Karl . Which gave me an opportunity to play with their veggie plate
Gabe called from South East Oregon where he was mountain biking out on a desert with friends. Super cool to see that. Look like burning man
Earlier in the day we did Greenup day… When Oliver motors go out and pick up trash along the roads throughout the state. As always we found a huge collection of small Sutter home wine bottles this year there was also a whole bunch of twisted tea bottles and of course a bunch of beer bottles
You must’ve found 30 of those wine bottles… Somebody must do that every day… Who likes Zinfandel that much?
Today is the fifth anniversary of the day my father died. I was there with him when it happened. The two of us were alone. It was a peaceful moment. I miss him every day
. I hear his voice all the time and can even conjure up some of this corny jokes. He was a great great guy and a good friend.
I lit a yahrzeit candle for him this morning
End it still burning late into the night
Just wanted to say I miss you Papa… And love you very much.
I learned 2 days ago that my long time friend and coworker Joyce L had died after a long battle with Lyme disease. I never thought of the disease as deadly. but it can be. Joyce and I worked together at IBM for more than 33 years. Se was always fun and smiling , even when the rest of us were not. She was always kind and funny .. I really liked workign with her.. we all did.
Diane and I went up to farifax for Joyces wake. we ran into many of our work freinds up there that waited in line for nearly 3 hours to pay our respects. I think the whole town was there.. It was nice to see that so many people loved Joyce as much as we did.
