Woke early and decided to rent bikes and go see our friends Karen and jeff . We rented nice bikes and followed the three lakes .. lake of the isles, lake Calhoun and lake harriet down to the minnihaha parkway

By the time we got home everyone was awake .. we headed out to watch Theo practice hockey some more

Spent the afternoon hanging out at Mary and Johns .. Diane helped clean out the storm drains after last night 3 inches of rain

mostly working with Theo . He wanted to make an electric scooter.. Diane had the great idea to try using an electric drill to drove a scooter . Here’s what Theo and I came up with

Mary and john and fam headed out to the Vikings game around 6 .. then mom , Diane and I ubered over to Jeff and Karen’s to go to dinner

We went to a nice French place for moms birthday

Then back to Jeff and Karen’s for a few more minutes of catching up

Now on our way home

Spent the day in Minneapolis with my mom, Mary, John, Theo, Jake, and Ellery

Really nice to hang out with them

Started with a nice run through the city Including Nicolette island .

Nice being at my moms apartment stuff I remember as a kid… Including pictures of my dad

Headed over to my sisters with a stop to watch Theo at hockey practice

Then headed over to their house

Great Japanese dinner now just hanging out. Time for bed more tomorrow

I’m just landing in Minneapolis after 21 hours of flying from Singapore.. I’m here to see my mom and my sisters family and really looking forward to it .I’ve been on a plane all day so the only thing I have to show for

It is that i caught up on my email inbox .. which is no easy thing

And that’s an incredibly nice thing to have

Today would’ve been my dad’s 89th birthday… Happy birthday Pa .. I miss you every day

Spent the day in meetings and talks today here in Singapore. It seemed a little cooler… Perhaps only 89° I think that that that may be an honor of my dad. I spent the day really enjoying air-conditioning

I have had it set a really interesting meetings today and gave two talks

Afterword I met up with my friend Prasad… Actually had never met before other than through email… He invited me to his home where he just moved a couple weeks ago from India who is here with his parents and his sister… Tonight is some sort of Hindu festival we’re supposed to eat with your parents so it’s kind of an honor to be there.

We had chapthi and Dahl

And I got to sample some of there wide collection of mango pickle

It turns out that today is also part of the Singaporean “ghost festival”… When Chinese trivet of Singaporeans put out special gifts to keep the ghosts from happening their houses. There were some pretty cool stuff out there

OK… Time for bed. I have an early flight tomorrow because my flight was delayed 13 hours today… Erg
