Tuesday night – stumped

Busy day around the house. It was beautifully cool and breezy this morning we went for a run. Like every day I had to be particularly careful when I passed a certain spot. There’s a stump on the trail… A stump that I actually contributed to when I helped Cut this trail back in The early 2000’s.… I distinctly remember cutting the trees in this section of trail. Anyway… This one stump sticks up about an inch and a half and so many times I will catch my foot on it and end up sprawled out on the trail. Sometimes it happens when I’m going out sometimes it happens when I’m coming back.

It’s always a tremendous jolt.… Sometimes I skinned my knees or my hands.. A couple of days ago I pulled a muscle in my leg.… I thought has always been to go and cut the damn thing down. Show it who’s boss. But on our run… During a particularly insightful conversation with Dianne… I realized that it was better to live with it and just watch out for it and avoid it.

I found two cool rocks That now bracket it like apostrophes. I always see it coming now

You can’t always move your obstacles

Monday night – horn worm

It was a tough day at work… Nothing seem to be operating smoothly. Can’t going to details but I was very glad when it was 6 PM. The highlight of my day… And this says a lot… Was Diane showing me the last of the giant hornworms that she been clearing from our tomatoes. These things are 4 inches long and beautiful in their own way… But they are making purée out of our beautiful tomatoes. Look at these things… Are we lucky to live in a planet that has things that look like this and things that look like us and things that look like chocolate chip Cookies (just ate one)

I do have to give these critters credit… This is what they were hanging out in

OK… That’s it for today. Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive.

Sunday night – sunset cruise

I spent the day working on some presentations I needed to do that at that so when 3 o’clock came it was a pleasure to close my laptop and head out with Diane for a A sunset cruise. Ben and invited JOHN, lauren, Dianne and me out to enjoy a stiff wind and beautiful weather out on the lake. We went about 10 miles north which is about as north as we never been in that boat I even got a chance to steer for a while

It was great being out there with good friends. We made some wonderful food had some wonderful conversations.

Desert worse some more is made with Deborah’s shortbread, fine chocolate and vegetarian marshmallows… Doesn’t get much better than that

Very nice way to end a very nice weekend

Saturday night – 38 years at work

Looks like my post yesterday didn’t go out for some reason. I don’t quite remember what I wrote… But I do know I pointed out that yesterday was my 38th service anniversary with IBM. 38 years ago I remember walking into the building for the first time… They let me fire a fire extinguisher that day. I don’t think I’ve done that since.

Anyway it’s been an amazing ride something like 80 countries And thousands of friends. I really couldn’t have asked for a better career so far

I marked it in the way that most people do I suppose… I spray painted a white lab coat with glow-in-the-dark paint and wrote “38” on it with a ultraviolet laser.

OK time for bed
