I spent the day working on some presentations I needed to do that at that so when 3 o’clock came it was a pleasure to close my laptop and head out with Diane for a A sunset cruise. Ben and invited JOHN, lauren, Dianne and me out to enjoy a stiff wind and beautiful weather out on the lake. We went about 10 miles north which is about as north as we never been in that boat I even got a chance to steer for a while
It was great being out there with good friends. We made some wonderful food had some wonderful conversations.
Desert worse some more is made with Deborah’s shortbread, fine chocolate and vegetarian marshmallows… Doesn’t get much better than that
Looks like my post yesterday didn’t go out for some reason. I don’t quite remember what I wrote… But I do know I pointed out that yesterday was my 38th service anniversary with IBM. 38 years ago I remember walking into the building for the first time… They let me fire a fire extinguisher that day. I don’t think I’ve done that since.
Anyway it’s been an amazing ride something like 80 countries And thousands of friends. I really couldn’t have asked for a better career so far
I marked it in the way that most people do I suppose… I spray painted a white lab coat with glow-in-the-dark paint and wrote “38” on it with a ultraviolet laser.
Super busy day… I didn’t get half of what I was supposed to get done today done. That said we did have one big accomplishment. We bought another car. This one is a Prius prime plugin Hybrid. You plug it in like an electric car and it can go about 25 miles on batteries… When that’s done it runs like a normal hybrid. In hybrid mode he gets about 54 miles a gallon… But in normal around town kind of commuting it gets over 100 miles a gallon. It gets over 600 miles on a tank… Maybe even 1000 if we’re just staying local. That sounds pretty cool. We are getting used to having to plug it in though
This evening we were lucky enough to score last minute tickets to a Natalie Merchant show at Spruce Peak Arts. A good friend john Got us on the standby list. It’s a beautiful venue… Never seen it before.
It was great seeing John all dressed up… Much different than what he wears at burning man
The show was quite good. You could tell that something was bugging Natalie merchant. She seem sort of sad but leaned into it as the show went on. She has such a beautiful voice.
OK… SaTori is asking me to play tugawar with her and she’s too cute to resist
Dan and I got back from a great trip to Cambridge just a few hours ago. The air is strangely cool. We both acknowledge that August 1 is like the beginning of the end of summer. From this point on everything is a rush to the beginning of… What? School? Not for us at least… But for all the things we tried to cram into summer. The nights will get cooler, The leaves will start to turn… Sure will still have a couple of 90° days… But we’re also going to start having nights in the 50s
I always welcome the cooler weather because it never has to be over 70° for me… But I do enjoy the slower pace of summer.… I wish there were something we could do to drag her feet and make the summer last a little longer… But that never works.… Oh well, I love the fall too
