Monday night- pick your friends

A funny thing happened tonight… Some friends called to tell us that they were locked out of their house. I drove over to see if I could help them out… Expected to have to break a window or something to get in… But I brought my lockpicks just in case. I learn to pick locks Welland undergraduate at MIT 40 years ago. It’s not a hard thing to learn but it’s a very hard thing to get good at. I’ve always been pretty good at it… But not great. Somehow when I need it… Skills there for me. I surprised myself and my friends by walking up to the door and on the first try flipping all five tumblers and opening the deadbolt. I don’t think I could repeat it… But it was a great alternative to breaking a window

Are used to always carry lotta pics with me… But I lost a good set to an overly zealous TSA agent…

Maybe I’ll start carrying them again…

You never know

Sunday night – Super Bowl

I’m actually sitting down with friends watching the Super Bowl at our fiends Tim and Jen . They keep interrupting the commercials to show something like this

I feel like I’m pretty quick on the uptake in most things.. but I never have understood football. I liked it as a kid .. but only because it was a goOd connection with my dad .. and watching football meant under age drinking was ok.. for age 13 on wed get sandwiches and beers and watch football on tv .. it was long before cell phones .. so i actually watched .. always confused .. but that’s how much I loved me dad

Thinking of you pa.. you’d love these commercials

Friday night – four hands

Ahhhh So nice to be home!… Long beautiful drive back from Boston. I went by way of Manchester Vermont which added about two hours. I went down there for a community TV interview around a high. It was a long drive but I’m glad I did it. Lots of beautiful snowy back roads And terrible cell service.

Got home in time for dinner with Diane and Deb… Then the three of us went to UVM For a pretty cool concert. It was two such brothers Luca’s and Arthur Jussen. One 21 and the other 27. They were amazing pianist. They played a couple of pieces together on a single piano and then one major piece on two different pianos. They say played some short back pieces on the same piano then a Schubert and a Mendelsohn peace… After the intermission they played the rights of spring… Which was absolutely amazing. Honestly it was a little frustrating because where we were sitting you couldn’t see the brothers when they were both playing the same piano… I think half the people in the theater couldn’t see.… Even so they sounded wonderful. They were such amazing musicians. They got three standing ovations!

I stopped by Stone corral on the way home and heard a good band called “the brevity thing”… Named after a line in the big Lebowski.

Now I’m home and really sleepy so I’ll stop here. Glad to be home for a weekend !
