Monday night – just ducky

Yesterday we solved the mystery that’s been Puzzling us For the last week or so. There’s been a pair of very well behaved ducks down at our favorite Swimming hole on the lower Huntington. We walk there most days with the dogs. Every day for the last week or so this pair of ducks has been paddling around without being bothered at all by our presents or the dogs. Were used to seeing ducks all the time… But they generally fly away when you walk up. We learn from our neighbor Jane that they are refugees from up the hill. There is a family that keeps ducks as pets… Unfortunately they were being picked off one by one by something large… Perhaps a bobcat or a coyote. Only this pair remained… So the owner brought them down to live in Huntington. They’ve been adopted by one of the local landowners. Which I guess is a good thing because these duck don’t migrate.. They’ll need a heated space for the winter.

It’s nice to have them as neighbors

Sunday night – nice slow day

Just hung around the house today… Like every day for the last three months… But it was nice. We got a nice running in the morning and sat around and waited for rain… Last couple of days it’s supposed to have rained but it really hasn’t mastered more than a few raindrops. Around 4 o’clock Diane and I took a walk to the lower Gortych. The water is really low… It’s such a beautiful place to visit. We watched the few raindrops hitting the surface of the river

Made some good progress on a project I’m doing with my brother… Can’t go into it here… But here’s a cool ultrasound movie of my femoral artery 32 mm inside my left leg . If you look closely you can see my pulse

Looks like science !

Friday night – frogs and toads

TGIF I’m more glad than ever when the calendar says it’s Friday these days. For the second Friday in a row we went and visited our friends Michael and Rebecca up the road. Keeping socially distance and talking some about race relations. I enjoy those conversations. Today we also went up and toured some of their land behind our house. They filled a couple of really cool space is up there for camping and meditation.

For some reason today we saw a bunch of toads and frogs.… I’m not sure why but it was really fun

Later tonight we set up for a movie outside. We watched get smart with a few neighbors spaced safely around the yard. Super fun

Now time for bed… Sleep well everybody.
