Thursday night – thanks !

Today was the strangest Thanksgiving… But it was really sweet and nice. We did what everyone else did which was stay home and talk to our loved ones on zoom.

I do feel very grateful for the Family, friends, neighbors, coworkers…We have in our lives.… I know these are strange times… But somehow I feel Everyone is in this together we began the day with our sixth hike up Bolton… We’ve been climbing it every day this week. They had a special twist. It was the virtual turkey trot In memory of our friend Jerred Williams . Jared died in 2001… And every year since his family has done a benefit. They have a foundation called “never give up ever”… That raises money for families of kids with cancer. It’s an amazing way of remembering Jared. He was such a great kid.

Our contribution to the turkey trot was to take a picture of Jared at the top of Bolton

We spent most of the day quietly working around the house on various projects. One included upgrading our mailbox. This massive delicate transfer of some sentimental stickers on the old one

Later in the afternoon we had a zoom call With my mom and brother and sisters families. Was great seeing everybody

Around 730 Dan Carlin I took a meditation class… Then we came in and did the easiest Thanksgiving we ever had.… We took our wonderful Chinese food from single pebble out of the fridge and warmed it up in the microwave. We had a feast!

Finish the day with a meet up with her kids… It was great hanging out with them

Once again… I feel so grateful and lucky for them family and friends… Our community… Even in these tough times it’s nice to take a break and realize that

I hope everyone else is able to do the same

Wednesday night – Fake out take out

Super slow day around here which was nice. ‘Diane and I woke up around six to client Bolton in very cold and snowy weather. It was our fifth straight day going up the mountain

Tonight we did an interesting thing.… Like everyone else we’re staying home tomorrow for Thanksgiving.… Rather than cook we decided to get Chinese takeout from my favorite place… The catch was they are not open tomorrow. So we ordered a big Chinese dinner from them to be eaten tomorrow. The catch is… It would’ve smelled so good that it would been too tempting to try to eat it in the car… So I had a great idea that I would get a second takeout meal that we would eat tonight that would keep me from eating the one from tomorrow. So it was fake up takeout Japanese tonight

OK everybody… Hope you have a peaceful and quiet holiday. That’s the best we can do right now

I will say I am incredibly thankful for the Family, friends community, coworkers and all the beautiful nature around us

Tuesday night – Prevailing wind

We had a very nice and quiet in the house. I worked on to art projects I’m doing for other people… When is the light sculpture for my friend JOHN… And the other is the revival of a 30 foot keyboard for my friend Mike… Both are fun and engaging.… I also worked on a robot project with my friends Va and Douglas. I have to say I’m happiest when I’m making things 🙂

In keeping with the weeks theme… Diane and I went to Bolton for the fourth straight day… Which is the steepest way up to the tower. It was in the high teens and blowing… And really beautiful.

There is a really nice layer of ice rhyme Upon the tower… You could see the prevailing wind must always be blowing west. Check out the snow pattern

OK… It’s actually the next morning… We’re about to climb Bowden again for the fifth time this week… Hopefully maybe catch a little of the sunrise

Monday night – Making space

First day of a vacation week and I really enjoyed having no particular plan… Not just for the day but for the whole week. The only thing that we actually have on our agenda for the week is that ‘Diane and I are climbing Bolton every day…

One thing we got done today was to clean out the closet where I keep my clothes.… May not sound like a big job but I don’t think we had looked in there in a decade. No joke.… It was quite fun…

Few things of note that We found…. A box full of business cards I’ve collected since being at work for 40 years…

Some great paintings at the kids did when they were young,

some x-rays of chai’s stomach when she swallowed a rock… Maybe for the third time

My old HP 25 calculator from high school (wow!)

Today I have three electronics projects I hope to get to… And if I don’t…

Who cares :-)
