Saturday night – top of the world

I spent the day puttering around the house… Getting some winter transition stuff done. Around 230 Diane ‘Kyle and I headed up to Camel’s hump. We figured the trail would be safe from hunters and wouldn’t be that crowded. We had half that rain. They were quite a few people coming down as we were going up. With sunset around 420… Everyone we saw it was on their way down.… We had to keep stepping off the trail to let people pass… I am large most people had masks on so it was kind of eerie… And it probably added a good 20 minutes to our hike.… We got up there just after sunset… But there was still some beautiful light up there. It was definitely winter up there… In the 20s with a strong wind. We were covered with ice by the time we got down from the summit . We had some hot tea and then back down by ourselves with headlights. It was a little icy but we had our Kramp’s so it wasn’t so bad

Nice to be back in our warm house,

Thursday night – gears and schmeers

Today Diane went into town and brought me back to surprises. She brought me back if Feldman’s lox sandwich with cream cheese, a container of white fish… And a set of 3-D printing gears that Elliot had made using our new carbon filled fiber

It was gears and schmeers ! (Schmeer It’s a Yiddish word for stuff you spread on bread)

I also want to do a shout out to my late father-in-law gabe… Today would’ve been his birthday. What a great guy!

Another shout out to Elena and Adam who brought by homemade Ethiopian food.… Then they drove home and we ate it together by phone

Not a bad day! !

Wednesday night – Veterans Day

Hard to believe it’s Veterans Day again. I’ve been thinking about my dad Hugh

And my father-in-law Gabe

Who were both proud veterans.

I’m sending out love and gratitude for the work they did to keep our country safe

I wonder what they would both make of the political mess the country is in right now?… I do feel it’s turning in the right direction

This morning we took advantage of the last of the sunny weather before the cold front comes in (I hear it arriving outside as I type)

Diane Kyle and I left the house around 5:30 and climbed Bolton to catch most of the sunrise

Nite all, nite Sam
