Not much to report today… Maybe collecting a few things from the last few days.
I will do the support to allow an old college piece of maxes… It was the nosecone of a rocket ship… To be the new heat reflector on top of our fire pit. Looks pretty cool
Max and Becky did a cool celebratory Burn last Sunday… Looks like some sort of abstract sculpture to me
And keeping in the color theme… We had a beautiful sunset today
I was very saddened to learn that one of my heroes, Alex Trebek died yesterday at HAD. I’ve been such a Jeopardy fan of my adult life. It was made even greater by IBM’s project to take on Jeopardy back in 2011. I was part of that team. I never met Mr. Trebek but I loved his sense of humor
Just realized I didn’t post anything less Sunday thank you show !)
Trying to remember what we did. Definitely the highlight was taking a walk with our friends Jen and Tim down along the creek at the edge of their land. They had heard that about 100 years ago there was an illegal whiskey still down there and they were trying to find it. We left them Sam’s all metal detector and they were able to uncover some really cool stuff including an old ram pump and what they think was the thumper keg for the still
I was welding today when diane came in to the garage ..
She was dancing
Took me a second but then I figured it out . We went on and jumped on CNN
I ran up to the tower and started ringing the bell !
It felt like a huge weight was lifting all around us
All day we were hearing from family and friends .. we’ll remember it forever
I’m so hopeful that we’re moving in a much better direction.
A more compassionate and more inclusive direction
We just finished watching Biden and Harris do their acceptance speech . It was truly inspiring . I did t expect that I’d be as moved as I was
I am sooooo happy and relieved
I do feel bad for all the folks who are disappointed by the election but i believe that Biden will really work to bring folks together . All I can ask is that we all help make that happen
