Saturday night – big wide world

Today was pretty special. We took our first real journey outside the house in more than a month. We were careful… We went to see our friend MARTHA in her cabin in Cabot today. We caravaned up there with our friend Ellen… She in her car, us In hours for the hour and 15 minute drive up there. Martha’s cabin is a pretty rustic place. No plumbing or electricity… What a beautiful setting. We have an actually help to build it. It’s wonderful to see her there… She really loves the peace and quiet. We all did the social distance same thing and stayed a good eight or more feet apart.

Even so it was very good seeing other humans.

There was still some snow up there in places… Actually got to throw a snowball

We sat around the fire… At a safe distance… And walked on the trails near there… And down to the small pond

The girls even made s’more’s before we came back. Again keeping a good to stick distance between them

We got to see the daffodils we actually planted for MARTHA last season.

Beautiful day… And so great seeing Martha so happy up there

Thursday night – colonists reunion

Crazy day. Work is a #^}*#@ crazy right now… But I am grateful to have work Now when so many folks don’t

I had several nice points of punctuation today when I had good heart to heart talks with several friends. I think people are all reaching out to each other now as the stress of confinement gets to them.

One of the real high points of the day was a resume meet up with nearly all of the folks from the reality show I was on… The colony. It’s been 11 years since we were all together and of the 11 of us 10 were able to make it. The event was for 8/7 and eighth grade class for a friend of mine who teaches in Ontario. I think it was more fun for us than it was for the kids. Was so great seeing everybody.

We all fell right back into our old rolls… It was like no time at all had passed.… I suppose I can’t share pictures of the kids here for privacy reasons but I believe I can show the colonist because everybody has seen them

My next break for work was at 8 PM when my good friend john (aka gizmo) who had his birthday. Again another zoom meeting. We made our own carrot cake to eat with him.… What a fantastic guy

Then a quick game of charades with the housemates… Restored some balance to the day.

Boy do I need to sleep

Wednesday night – bucolic

Today was 100% busy from 7 AM until about now… Nice thing is it was a little bit lower stress. One wonderful thing about living where we do is that I’m able to get outside for a decent run every day.… It helps that we have natural beauty all around… I like running by these ladies and talking to them

I’m taking these other ladies down to the river
