Sunday night (delayed) – chicken run

Yesterday was messy… In every regard. It started out with snow and hail… Actually help with thunder and lightning if you can believe it.… But most of the day was devoted to moving the chickens from Max and Becky’s place On Sibley Road… To their new home in Santa Fe. That meant making out the two chicken coops… Disassembling them were possible. Taking down the fence is so that we could get them into the truck. Driving all of that stuff into the city and taking them out of the truck and positioning them in the very nice new pen but Max and Becky have built. Then driving back to Sibley Road,Wrangling the chickens into boxes and driving them to their new home.

The day gave us rain and snow and lots and lots of chicken poop. It is in every pore of our body and our clothes and hair and just now about 24 hours later we’re finally clean

We did get a shower last night and drove back over to Max Becky’s and then out for a really nice quick dinner. Then Max Diane and I went to meow Wolf to see a great show ( Brother Ali)… I love going to music there

Ok.. gotta post this .. so I can do today

Saturday night (delayed) – Marvin’s library

Busy day yesterday helping Becky and Max with her house. we had an amazing dinner at Carol and Marvin’s who parents of our good friend Steve. We’ve known steve since Pittsburgh. He is out here visiting his parents. I came over and helped us take down some of the fencing at Max and Beckys old place,. Around 6:30 we Headed over to see parents.Really fun getting to know them better. The most amazing future of that beautiful house is a huge library. It turns out that Marv is a expert on crime and detective novels . He’s written quite a few books on the topic and has won many awards

It was so fun talking to him about his craft..!

Dinner was really fun.. Carol What is the best margaritas I’ve ever tasted she made this fantastic shrimp curry with lots of small plates that you could add. It was really memorable. So is the conversation

Today we move out of the old place..That means moving the chickens into the city!… Should be fun

Friday night (delayed) – At Max and Becky’s

Spent most of the day yesterday flying out to Santa Fe. Diana’s been out here all week helping Max and Becky move into their newly purchased house. I am out for another week of getting them out of the old house and helping them into the new house. Today (Saturday) we’re going to concentrate on getting the chickens from Sibley Road into Cortez.… Should be pretty comical. We have to build a new chicken coop, catch the chickens, and get them into one of the cars. I’m sure I’ll have some good pics.

Not much to report from yesterday… We got to the house around 3 o’clock just started working.

We reserved the pain from some of the windows, sorted some tools, cleared some bookshelves… There’s just so much to do…

But many hands make light work

Really nice southwestern dinner… All in walking distance of the new house .I think they’re gonna like that

More from today later

Thursday night – way back

Busy day before vacation… Took Chai to her acupuncture, got a fair bit caught up on work go outside for a bit… And in the middle of the day and interesting thing happened I got a FaceTime call from my old friend Brody. I had not talk to him since the late 1970s. It’s sort of kept up with his career… I knew that he was living in Belgium… I know that he is a world renowned calligrapher. I didn’t know much else. I’ve been trying to find him because I had several friends Who for one reason or another we’re in need of a world famous calligrapher.… We talked for about a half an hour… And tried to do as good a job as possible to cram almost 45 years of catch-up into that. It’s always tricky talking to someone I haven’t seen for a while. All stories lead up to you and radiate out from Sam’s passing. I found myself referring back to back point in time so many times in our catch-up. And interesting thing to reflect on. Anyway we had so much fun trying to encapsulate our lives, talk about old friends, talk about our families… Brody was married and has one daughter… He lives in a Stonehouse from the 1300s on a canal in Bruges Belgium. He’s fluent in Spanish and German… And his English is still pretty good :-). I’d really like to get over there and see him and meet his family

I’m going to make that happen
