Thursday night- Kim’s lab

Super busy day in Cambridge. Meetings from early morning till late evening. I did manage to sneak in a visit to my friend Kim’s lab. Kim has been a professor here for 44 years… And he still the busiest guy I know on campus. He Helped me get some pieces 3-D printed today for a project that I’m doing. It was a nice chance to look around the Edgerton center lab. There was a class there if students making fun animated Mit beavers.…

They had some nice tooling there for a small shop. Including a small compact vinyl cutter, glass fuse or, in a very compact laser cutter

I was glad I got to go to the lab today because our plan to visit to Artis Asylum got postponed because too many people were working on papers. Instead a group of us went out to brainstorm on a project and eat and drink. We went to the friendly toast Which was a pretty awesome place… Awesome people too

OK… I have an early morning tomorrow so signing off.

Wednesday night – hotel lab

I had a fun and busy day at MIT. Spent some of it with my friend Chris passing out information about the Citori hack-athon that we’re doing a January 28 and 29th. It was fun to walk around campus. I also had a great meeting with my friend Randi and her group talking about their projects of using robots to teach Programming and AI to kids. It was so inspiring

Tonight Akash, Yasmini, Sara And I had a quick dinner at aceitunes. Akash followed me back to the hotel so I could show him the marx generator project I was working on. When he left… I got inspired and decided to package up the whole high voltage supply chains . It was fun trying to do a project like that in the hotel room. I brought some tools and Saturday and iron. But for the most part I had to improvise on tools parts etc. It actually came out pretty nicely. It allows me to make about a 5 inch spark from a simple cell phone brick. Battery

I think it’s more fun to invent when you don’t have everything you need.

Great metaphor for life

Tuesday night – eight eyes

Fun and interesting meeting and Yorktown today. Right at the end I manage to drop my glasses and the left lens Opt out. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem… But without my glasses I can’t see anything closer than New Hampshire. I don’t have a spare set of glasses (which is something I’m about to fix)… But it left me in a strange dilemma. I couldn’t see well enough to repair my glasses. I have these really cool titanium glasses that don’t use screws or any other kinds of fasteners to hold them selves together. The good thing about that is there’s nothing to lose or break the bad thing about it is you need a microscope to see how to put it back together.

I walked around the building trying to find somebody who had reading glasses that are strong enough for me to use. No one had anything even close. Luckily my new friend Guille Had a pair of reading glasses… I tried those but they weren’t near strong enough… He said wait I have another pair… I put those on over the other pair. A little better but not strong enough.… He said wait I have yet another pair… I put those on and believe it or not through three pairs of glasses I was actually able to see what I was doing. My friend Gustavo also had a really cool magnify after his phone. Between that I was able to do the delicate surgery to put my glasses back together.

It’s a nice look for me?, no ?

Monday night – Yorktown and ARMONK

Hello from lower Westchester… I’m down at an IV a meeting… Staying in my favorite hotel the Ibm learning center. It’s now called that Gerstner center. A few things of changed around here… The most notable is that there are no longer bathrooms in the room. I can’t believe it.

Some of my friends to work here and that was wonderful to see. After a long long meeting today… And a really lovely dinner. I came back here and met up with my friends Hendrik and Werner from Cambridge. I got to show them around some of the crazy old buildings on this campus. It was fun. It brings back some great memories. Like the time I made the ghost movie because I was the only person in one of the buildings

Hendrik and I walked over to headquarters… But I found that my badge no longer work

there.

Time passes!
