Thursday night – Sam’s birthday tomorrow

Tomorrow would have been sam’s 29th birthday… So hard to believe. I have powerful dream about him

Last night that woke me out of a sound sleep… It wasn’t alarming… It was nice to be thinking about him.

What a sweet and amazing kid. Like every one of his birthdays since he died we will be marking it by hiking Bolton mountain And then meeting up with friends later in the day.

Tomorrow we’re hiking at 4:30 AM sharp from the Parking lot at Bolton Valley… The idea is to get to the fire tower by sunrise. Then at 7 PM in the evening we’re all meeting at the school house for ice cream cake and an outside movie… We decided to watch “the mask” with Jim Carey… Because a) Sam loved the movie ( “smokin’ !”). And b) What could be more appropriate than an end of Covid get together than “the mask”… Please feel free to come and join us for either.

We will have ice cream and cake… Please bring anything else you’d like for yourself or to share

Please let us know if you’d like to come by signing up here https://www.facebook.com/events/917816635727175/?ti=ia

Wednesday night – almost a party

It was another wicked hot and humid day again today..the weather has brought our tha Phlox ( aka “dame rockets”) about 3 weeks early on the path we usually run

Tonight came after a long day. We had a fire and watt group. Meeting which turned into a nice small party !

It feels so food to see people again !

Tuesday night – sunset

Not much to report today…worked hard .. had some food conversations.

After dinner diane and I decided to hike to the gorge again.. ITA about. 4 mile hike on digest road which is still closed due to the washout at the gorge .

There was a beautiful sunset

And a very cool, slow moonrise

Beautiful evening !

Monday night – robins !

Diane found a family of robins living our wood frame. She thinks there’s three babies in there and they are big !

We’re being very careful to leave them alone so that mama and papa keep eating them. I will send stuff like this so near our house

I also noticed that the phlox (aka dame rockets) Are already in full bloom on the river shore Trail. It’s a for three weeks earlier than they’re normally here.

Beautiful… but What’s that mean about the weather?

Nite all, nite sam
