Friday was a travel day… I woke up at 4 AM and ‘Kyle took me to the airport. It reminded me of the hundreds of times that I’ve done that in the past… Waking up that early throws you off… Somehow doing it after such a long break reminded me how much I liked not doing it
I was thinking of Scott as I travel… I was pretty sure this will be his last day. I’m glad I got to see him so much in the last few weeks
Got to Albuquerque I got a shuttle to Santa Fe. Mats pick me up but I went to his house to meet ‘Diane. We immediately got to work but I replace the kitchen faucet. It feels good to help him out.Later that night we went to see an interesting Balkan music festival where a friend of his was playing. It was beautiful it was on a ecological reserve we’re back to Becky by the mulch.… The music was beautiful…The mosquitoes were not….
I woke again to find out it’s got was still alive… He’s define the odds… I can no longer go and visit him. I just keeping him and his family in my thoughts.… I hope you can as well too please
Scott was on my mind when I went over to our friends the Davises to work with Gizzo, Julianne, Melinda and Doug to build a funeral pyre for Julianne’s 27-year-old son James. He was born with a heart defect and had many surgeries… He was also a cancer survivor… He was doing very well and then suddenly in February during Covid he had an intestinal illness and died sadly… It’s been very hard on Julianne and Melinda. James was a huge Star Wars that… And he had told his mom that he wanted a Jedi like a funeral pyre. So he was cremated back when he died Julianne’s idea is to take his ashes and burn them on a giant Darth Vader like wooden funeral pyre doused in flammable liquids.…
We met early in the morning and built up the pyre out of Pallets, wood scraps and logs. It’s actually really beautiful. Tomorrow (Friday) family and friends will gather and Julianne will put James ashes on top… And then use it flaming staff to ignite the whole thing. I’m very sad not to be there for her and for James… But it was good to help build the buyer. With your permission I put the same stone in there as well.
Life is funny…
I spent the day working and getting packed for my trip out to Santa Fe… I got back early so in the evening I first headed to Nordic farm for “team vaccine”… We’re Building a large version of the Covid vaccine to burn at our fire and water festival in August… It was nice seeing all of our friends there. Then some of them came with me down to Homer’s house… He’s having a maker weekend with a bunch of old friends. It was great seeing him. On the way down we stopped and actually saw the time cycle which is rusting in the markowskis field. It brought back some great and some crazy memories
Woke today to learn that scott was still with us .. though the doctors had said he would likely not be. I heard that news with a strange mix of relief and sadness . This is a tough process for him and his family
Around noon I had a busy from out of town guests will and his mother Sharon. They brought lunch for me and for them . I know Sharon from a talk I gave it rectors over this year… Her son ‘Will is a really bright and creative hi school kid he’s interested in computer science and Ei… It was so great talking to them.
After work I had a meeting at data… On the way there on the interstate I heard a rumble in My right rear passenger and then all of a sudden that tire completely blew out… I was going through highway speed so it’s pretty scary… But I was able to pull off and change the tire didn’t even take that long. Pretty amazing that tire blocks it only had 3700 miles on it…
Later that night I went out and saw my friends Gari and Dave and then barn to Catch up and hear Grateful Dead cover band… My neighbor Duncan came to it was nice to get to know him
