Tuesday night – Dad’s jahrzeit

Today marks the seventh anniversary of my Dads passing.. I can’t believe it’s been that long . What a great, great guy .. funny, creative, loving .. honorable .. he was such a mensch !

I lit a jahrzeit candle for him

I still talk to him every day when I head down the stairs of my house .

Today I wore his sweat pants for my run

I miss you Pa ! I love you !

Monday night – New path forward

Yesterday… Or maybe the day before… I talked about a washout on the river short path we’re dying and I always run. Today I rent there and our friend Francis had already rerouted the trail. I was halfway through the new detour before I realized the trail have been moved

I think there’s a metaphor in there somewhere… I just can’t find it yet

Sunday night – Doctor Ben !

Very chill day around here… But figuratively and

Literally… There still snow on the hills above us so we bundled up to hang around outside. On our run yesterday we noticed that they were Nuesky had taken part of the trail we run every day… So today we took a picture of it

I went up the mountain to help our friend Deb move a mattress and took it vantage of the trip to stay in barefoot in the snow… Not sure when the next time I get to do that is… Hopefully not till next winter 🙂

Went back home and ‘Diane and I worked around the yard… As I shoveled mulch I got to listen to our nephew Ben’s med school graduation at UT Health

He starts his residency in neurology in Houston and he’s getting married to his long-term girlfriend sam…

We’re very proud of that boy!

Midway through the graduation gizzo came over to use my welder to patch up some holes in his ‘new’ bus louis. He’s making it into a hoppy camper that sounds pretty sweet !

Glad to have taken this weekend off .. now time for bed !

Saturday night – Mayday

It was a beautiful first day of me… It was snowing when we woke up. Deb and Tim both reported about 3 inches of snow. We just had a dusting… But that’s not so unusual for may

Dianne and I took a nice run… The last couple of days of rain has really made everything “sproing”. Everything is turning green… It’s wonderful

May 1 also means Greenup day… When all Vermonters go out with brake clean bags and pick up garbage off the sides of the road

The litter of choice today was definitely twisted tea… Some sort of hard lemonade tea mix. We found probably 20 bottles… Our old friend white Zinfandel and really gotten down to just a couple of bottles. I’m happy for him or her if they reduce their drinking

I still can’t understand how so many people could throw that much stuff out of the window. Also cigarette butts… Literally hundreds of them…

After that we Matt Deb up at Tim’s and we worked on their house for a while. It was fun helping somebody else for their house and getting out of ours!

Being over there Matt hanging out with their strange cats… Skeenin Is a crazy hairless cat… Very affectionate… I was working and the next thing I know he had left from the floor up on my shoulder

It’s really nice to hang out at Tim and jen’s…. Here’s the view from their house

After dinner we all took a walk up to Gillette pond… The recent rains have filled it almost all the way up… Amazing that this is Only a mile from our house

OK… Time for bed. More tomorrow
