Friday night – quaquaversal

quaquaversal is A great word… It means “expanding in all directions at once”… It’s actually part of maxes email address.… That’s the kind of day I had. I woke up early down in Orlando and caught an Uber to the airport. I worked in the whole way back to Dulles airport… Then worked while I was there and then got on my flight back to Burlington.

As soon as I got off the plane my slack told me that Alia The plane we’re building at Bada was on the taxiway it was going up for a horizontal flight. I immediately ran to the window where the crowd gathered wondering at this crazy looking airplane… I was able to watch it takeoff and fly around. It was so beautiful !

I was able to watch the live feed from the Chase helicopter as well.

I… I went over to Beto to get a couple hours of work done and then grabbed A taxi down to UVM for a late afternoon meeting… When I got there I realized that my wallet and my passport were missing… Oh no. Very nice taxi guy took an IOU… And I went inside to my meeting worried about where my passport and wallet were… I assumed I had put them down somewhere. I called my friends at Beto who looked everywhere and couldn’t find it… Luckily I have a tail tracker in my wallet. The last known location was at Burlington airport… So I turned it on entails find your network to see if anyone could locate it. A few minutes later it showed up… Unfortunately still down at Dulles airport in DC. It evidently fell out of my backpack. Luckily the tracker gave me it’s exact latitude and longitude

and I was able to call my friends at United… (where I still have some secret powers)… And they were able to go out and find it to me and luckily it’s now being fedexed back to me. They hadn’t found my passport… Amazingly though just as I was getting worried about that I got a call from the folks at The Burlington airport… I had been at the operations office at the airport getting my fingerprints taken for my SIDA Bad which allows me to be out on the runway which I need to be able to do for my job. Evidently they had taken my passport forgotten to give it back to me. So the good news is both of my items were found.

Diane came pick me up at my meeting and we zoomed over to the airport to get my passport and pay off the poor taxi driver who helped me.… We had just enough time to grab a sandwich and get back to Burlington to see the movie “listen up” for my friend Jess O’Brien. Listen up is a sequel to the “voices project” that Max was part of roughly 15 years ago.… It was a really nice story told by Vermont youth about the issues facing kids in the state. It was pretty poignant… The music was fabulous. After the movie There was a Q&A with a very talented cast

And summer marks from lieutenant governor Mollie Walsh

We ran into some old friends from voices days… Including Bess, beth and raye

OK time for bed… More tomorrow

Wednesday night (Delayed) – catch up

Boy… What a busy day…

.But even so not much to report. I’ve crammed a lot of things into Wednesday because ‘Diane and I have been out on vacation for 10 days… We had so much fun visiting have …. I still get antsy when I’m not working.

And I can’t believe it’s December already !

My day started early at 7:30 with a presentation to a worldwide group that was mostly based in India… That went very well… Then a string of meetings… A mixture of IBM and Beto all through the day… Not really much that I can share here other than it felt good to be busy

And I’m glad to be home

Thursday night – ambigram !

My aunt Bridget reminds me that today is an “ambigram”… That means it’s the same backwards and forwards and upside down !

M

How cool is that?…

I’m down in Orlando right now… On IBM related business.

I was so happy surprised as I was waiting in the airport that my friend Ryan came up and was on the same plane… I really think that if I could wish for anyone in the world who would be fun to sit next to On a plane… Ryan would be in the top 3…. He’s such an Energetically and inspiring guy… I think we think very much the same

And our love of connecting to other people and connecting them to each other.… Talking with him made my day… No my way… No my year… I don’t know

One crazy thing that happened while we were talking is that my glasses broke… I don’t know if you all know this… But I am Losing my ability to read… And I’m close to having eyesight that’s too poor to drive.… Luckily I’m getting cataract surgery next week… So having my glasses break this week was a pretty funny thing. It’s a little crazy and scary to be out in the world and not be able to read simple things like menus etc.… But… I’ve grown up to be a really good listener and great memorizer so I can usually fake it.… But having my glasses break while traveling was pretty freaky. Luckily I had some clip leads and other things that I can improvise a way of keeping my broken glasses working…More or less

I spent the afternoon at the University of Central Florida… With my friend Alicia. We had about 28 people and it was so fun.… I think the audience liked my talk and then afterwards I had a spontaneous mob of people… Mostly talking about first robotics. It was truly my happy place

I can hardly keep my eyes open now… So I’ll sign off.

happy ambigram !

Tuesday night – home again

Dianne and I woke up at 4 AM Time to get our flight from Portland back to Burlington… Pretty uneventful flight. Spent the whole time writing grad school applications for people… I have a huge stack to write.… It’s one of the pleasures I’ve been in the business so long… But it does take a lot of work

‘Kyle picked us up at the airport around five and we came home… So nice to be here. Light snow everywhere which is a great contrast portland .

Trying to log in the bathtub using speech is just not working so I’ll say an early good night
