Wednesday night – father’s forever

Just off a call with my father’s forever group. It’s a group of dads who have had children who died. I know t sounds weird.. bit I really love these meetings . It’s really good to be able to trade stories with folks with this very hard experience. We trade stories about our kids both living and dead.. trade stories sad and funny stories ( there really are family stories)

We talked today about how we answer the question ‘how many kids do you have’ .. and what to say to someone who expalins they didn’t bring up Your kids name because they “didn’t wanna remind you”…

It’s actually really nice to have people you can talk to you like that.

It’s hard when we get a new member… But it feels like a Great service when we can help them in small way with something that really can’t be helped

Thanks to my FF friends for being there for me and for each other .

Tuesday night –

Happy birthday to me!… Today was my 62nd birthday and it was really wonderful.

I’m very happy to be where I am in life right now. I love my family… I love my community… Can’t ask for much more than that.…

Diane and I Began the day with a 5 mile loop up Bamforth Ridge and then bushwhacked half a mile down towards Gleason Brook. It was sky high snow so it was quite a workout… Really beautiful

Amazingly we were the only ones on the entire mountain for the whole 4.5 hits of our hike

Later in the day I went into town to pick up some plumbing parts and sushi for dinner… I also stop bye Chris and Kim’s… It’s not nice to be out even if I had to keep my distance

When I got home Dianne and ‘Kyle and decorated the place with streamers and put the house lights into “party mode” we’re all the electronica lights are blinking different colors super fun

We had great sushi dinner then we got on to talk to the kids for a bit

Couldn’t ask for a nicer day. Thank you to everybody who reached out to say hi.

I could feel the love

Nite all, nite sam (Really thinking of you on my birthday)

Monday night pre birthday

I took the day mostly off in prep for my birthday tomorrow… It was great. Dean and I got out for a short ski along the river sure it was beautifully sunny even though it was about 14° the whole neighborhood seem to be outside. It was nice to see folks from a distance.

Of the day working on several TechTogether projects around the house…. Trying to knock down my backlog of fun projects before they become in fun.

After dinner we cut into the wonderful birthday cheesecake that wonderful Lauren and wonderful John gave me yesterday… Just the first of a couple of cakes….

I love birthdays!

Sunday night – If a tree falls in the forest

Nice day… Woke up grumpy though. Not sure it’s work or my birthday or some thing. But I manage to work my way through it. We got out for a short ski with John, Lorin , belle and ‘Kyle on a golf course.… It was nice and flat so I liked it. I’ve decided I don’t like going up or down on cross country skis… But this was really pretty

Later on today we decided we would try to watch the Super Bowl. We made some pretty spectacular vegetarian junk food… Diane made buffalo style cauliflower with blue cheese and I made nachos… They were delicious

I tried to make myself watch the game but I really couldn’t get into it… So I spent the time trying to work on the wireless in the house.… I dropped in every once in a while when they were commercials on which is the part I like

One other surprise for the weekend is that Diane noticed this morning that a Small tree had fallen on our house. Nothing was broken but the tree and actually split so we’re gonna have to get somebody to come out and pull it off so it doesn’t hit a power line, the fiber optic to the house or the heat pump.

A few minutes ago I had the thought of checking the time lapse from the camera outside and sure enough I was able to find the moment the tree hit the roof. Here it is

OK… Tomorrow’s my birthday eve. Talk to you then
