Monday night -The cutest little smoke machine

Had an interesting day… For some reason I woke up completely out of “flu”… Everything was kind of going sideways… I had a couple of tough meetings I had to deal with but as the day wore on ended up having a lot more fun than I had anticipated. Got some cool stuff working at beta. Got home and was pleased to see that advice I had ordered for one of our demos arrived. It’s the cutest little smoke machine… Check it out

Sunday night – New trails

Nice slow. day… I didn’t do any Of the things that I “had” to do… And instead spent a good portion of the day walking with my friend James up on some new trails I’ve never been on a behind Corcoran ski area.… There’s a large ridge that raises sharply on the town side of Richmond. I’ve been up there before but haven’t explored it much. We took a 5 1/2 mile loop up and over… Some great views

And really nice snow

we came down through the old Richmond cemetery… It was interesting seeing some of the very old stones way up in the field

Once we got back to Cochran’s I headed down to Overocker park to meet my friend JOHN to see if we could stick out a better trail from the Overocker parking lot to the river. We made a note to do that when the Bracken had all died down. We found some cool stuff down there… And maybe even a path for a trail

OK… Face with a decision whether I stay up a couple more hours and program or go to sleep…

sleep wins !

Saturday night – Ice cream Saturday

I know it’s supposed to be ice cream sundae… But today was special. My friend ‘Wendy had borrowed my dewer To take liquid nitrogen into her class. She returned it with a little bit of liquid nitrogen left.… Give me a nice opportunity today. I drove about an hour down to Bethel To make a quick visit to one of the first robotics teams that were helping fund. It was so great to see the team in action. I got a great technical walk-through and really appreciate how exciting first robotics challenge (fRC) Can be. We only have a few FRC teams in the state and I’m trying to help build more.… I took advantage of the trip to make liquid nitrogen ice cream with all of the robot tears. Super fun (Dr. cool… Was thinking of you when I did it)

I got back home and it was too cold really go outside so I headed into bed I did a little bit of work came back and realized I still had some nitrogen. So our housemate ‘Kyle and I made a small amount of pumpkin ice cream… Which is a lot better than it sounded

Friday night (delayed) – Back in the shop

I had an interesting day on Friday.… I’m trying really hard not to work on Fridays so I had scheduled a couple of socially distance face-to-face meetings that I’ve been putting off. The first was with my new friend Ned. ned is an amazing guy… He’s been a quadriplegic for many years and he’s designing his own standing wheelchair.… He’s been having some technical challenges and I’m trying to help him by introducing him to some people who do those kind of control system things. I went and visited Ned in his very beautiful apartment looking over the lake and the Adirondacks. It’s really a spectacular place. Ned has his counseling practice based there… I can only imagine that his patients have trouble concentrating because the view is so gorgeous.I had a great lunch with Ned and his assistant Max. And that’s very cute dog Charlie

I really enjoyed talking to Ned and had some ideas and people he could talk to you… He’s got some great technical ideas… And some great technical challenges to make it work. Look forward to helping him if I can-

I didn’t have a brief intro meeting with James… He works at global foundries but the funny connection is that his “aunt”… (Not his blood aunt but close enough close friend is my Good friend ‘Ellen’s sister Annie Who’s been my friend since the late 70s in Houston.… Ani had asked me to look James up. He’s such a nice guy… It turns out that his girlfriend used to work with our housemate ‘Kyle… Again another Vermont small world

giraffe the deer I had a really nice dinner at hatchet with my friend Mike… It’s great catching up with him and then I went back home and actually started working in my newly appointed shop. It was the first project I’ve actually done there… And when I looked up it was almost 2 AM… That’s a good sign of a great working shop 🙂

Diane is out in Portland with Max helping dog sit with nova this week… And I really miss her. I’m very happy that after 40 years I still miss My girl like crazy when she’s Traveling.
