Wow is this nations weekend Dianne had a simple but profound observation. We were talking about how subtle changes in the weather… And she angle of light, availability of water, days of rain have a profound impact on Flora and Fahner.… She wondered aloud weather the climate change You’re seeing is signaling some very deep part of our brain that trouble is coming… Which is raising everyone’s stress level… And somehow contributing to the breakdown of civility, hyper polarization , political extremismetc. Clearly there are many other factors here like Covid… But in some other context a global threat like that might bring people more together.… So maybe we are much more creatures of nature than we recognize… What do you think?

Do animals sense when their population is too high for the environment, I don’t think so. Rabbit populations are cyclical. When the population is too high, birth rates go down, predators increase, diseases increase, population drops, there is no consciousness or unconsciousness knowing by the individual rabbit. I think the same applies to humans except we can postpone for 100 of years the inevitable. Does weather trigger a deep atavistic memory I don’t think so. In general excepting humans global warming could improve the living world in terms of tonnage of life. Species arrogance is inate in humans but nature cares naught what species are present.
I’ve been fearing and observing the same thing recently. The changes in human behavior and civilization because of the advancement of communication is incredibly interesting. I think that quite a number of the people that I am close with today I would have never thought to talk to in a world years ago. Although, as I am only 17, I haven’t much proof or experience to work off of. There are some people that just wouldn’t get along if they didn’t talk for hours a day, and I think that since there are so many now that do that, we have many more people in our lives that we wouldn’t have otherwise and for that I am greatful.
The point I was trying to emphasize on was the communication. I think that to go along with your stressors of something approaching, I think there is a reason that the human race has so quickly advanced into the world of technology. After all, efficient communication leads to efficient work and efficient problem-solving. Therefore, it got me to thinking- are we innovating for the sake of progression or protection?
