Sunday night – baby in the house

today was very peaceful. Our friends Gretchen and Marshall brought over some new friends of theirs: Isaac, Susan and they’re very little baby Sophia. Isaac is a post doc in the mechanical engineering department at UVM, Susan is a graduate student in education at Ohio State and Sophia is just the cutest little baby. It was so great catching up both with them and with Gretchen and Marshall… It is so nice having a baby In the house even for a few minutes

Saturday night – FTC championship

Today was the day of the Vermont first tech challenge championship. I’ve been involved with FTC for the last two years and this is our second Covid year. Even so we had a great event. We had 12 teams competing. It will be great of a competition with Strong. I was the MC which was interesting because we didn’t have any of the public there but we still had 200-300 or so people…

I was So proud of all the robot makers…proud to be part of the program!

On the way to the championship I was the first person to come across a tree that had fallen across the road. I started cleaning it up and then one of the Richmond police officers came and help me move the tree for your lane… I was kind of a cool beginning of the day

I got to CVU high school About freedom and started helping with set up

It was really interesting and smart students mentors. reps and staff there

Our lieutenant governor Molly Walsh was there… She’s a huge Robert fan

It was my friend Doug’s last me as the leader of FTC for Vermont… He pass the torch to my new friends ‘Holly and liz… That has been such a great asset for the last 12 years… His promise to stay involved. We will certainly miss him

I really love first robotics and how it brings people together

Friday night – lost road

Dianne and I took a hike this morning all the way up honey Hollow. It was just such a beautiful day we just kept on going all the way to the top and then we decided to explore side road that my friend jill had discovered… It was an old Woods Road that seem to end up in the woods but then we saw a faint impression of an old abandon road. We followed it for about an hour up the hills with the hope that we would find a connection to loop back… I had a meeting I had to get back for So we had to stop our explore… But it was a great 5 mile Trump. We’re going to go back and try to find that road and see where it goes it doesn’t look like it’s been used much in the last hundred years so who knows where it goes ?!

Thursday night – st paddy’s day

Today was Singh Patrick’s day… And I completely forgot to wear green. Luckily no one ever pinched me… But I clearly remember in fourth grade that my friend Monica pinched me hard at our nursery school because I wasn’t wearing a green… I remember telling her it doesn’t count because I’m Jewish :-)

It wasn’t the only holiday though… My friend aaron reminded me that the day before it was also Purim… He brought in some hamantaschen for her friend and teammate Andria… She shared some with us which was really yummy

After work I did prince Tim and Jen came over for a full “Irish'” dinner… They brought Conti cabbage… Diane made green shamrock flavored spinach ravioli with pesto and an interesting green salad it was made out of kale and green apples… Diane also made some Irish soda bread which was really yummy. We washed it all down with a bunch of Guinness… I almost felt Irish 🙂

Éire go Brách !
