Monday night – Climbing to fall weather

It was hot today !. we spent time working in max and Beckys garden.. We’re helping to build a pergola for some roses.

By midday the heat was getting to us, so max suggested we take the 25 mIn drive up to the Norsky trail. Its up Artist Road past Hyde Park State Park… in those short miles we were transformed from near 90 degree heat to 54 degree windbreaker weather. We took a beautiful hike in the cool aspen forest

Then we drove back down to summer :-).. that was fun too because Max made homemade pasta with Dianes pesto she’d brought from VT and Becky’s homemade tomato sauce. Yum !

noter nice day in Covid Camp !

Saturday night – rainbows again !

We are all feeling healthier so we wandered off for a hick around the Dale Ball Sierra Del Norte trails.. Beautiful flowers are out because of all the rain !

The rain has brought other benefits as well. We had a wonderful set of rainbows back at the house right before dinner !

Thanks to the weather for offering us this beauty !

Friday night – Hollyhocks

Everyone felt a little better today. We hung low for most of the day.. The high point was learning to make ‘hollyhock dolls’ from Becky’s beautiful Hollyhock flowers. Doreen showed us how to do it..  You find a tight flower bud for the head.. and wider bloom for the skirt. You peel back the greenery from the head bud and it reveals pairs of small holes between the petals. They serve as the the dolls eyes as well as the ‘neck’  where the stem of the skirt but goes..

Kinda Magical !
