Monday morning – nae intro

Not much happened today.. the most memorable was a zoom new member orientation  to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) .. A group i’ve just joined. Our annual meeting is next weekend and the leaders were welcoming us to the group and letting us know how to find our way around the organization.  I think I’m really going to like being part of this group. there are folks from all sorts of engineering disciplines in the NAE.. and on this call. We heard about he mission of the NAE and how it is organized, and the work projects they take on.. all very interesting. When it came time for questions.. I had to ask if we really needed to where a tie tot eh event next week..

That question came back to haunt me later 🙂

Friday night – MIT in a day

I did my first recruiting trip with BETA today and it was to MIT..     We met at 6:30 and climbed aboard our PC12. Our friend Mike flew us down in our Pilatus  to Bedford airport near Boston in about 45 min. then an uber to mit Such a great way to travel !

I took Ray and Zip to see my old dorm which is now a park. I found an old samstone I’d put there.

We had a great time at MIT. we had our motor demo, a model of Alia and our VR sim. My friends Alex, Zip, Ray , Henri and I spoke with hundreds of super smart MIT students who wanted to hear more about building electric planes.! I saw many old friends and We even had a woman in hotdog auit come to check us out. It was so fun and inspiring

I also got to see my good friend Luke at the MIT-IBM booth. They had a ton of people visiting them.  as Well.

We closed up shop around 4 and packed up our demos  and loaded them on the truck for Dhamir to take back to VT.  Henri and his GF then drove us out to Bedford airport. We got there only 5 min before Mike flew in wt the PC12.. We climbed aboard and were back in BTV in about 51 min. We even flew over our house !

Jarred reached out to me while we were in the air and asked if I was free to hang out. I went from teh airport straight to his house and hung out with his old freind Jason.. Our mutual freind Ryan came in for a bot too.. Such a fun way to end a busy day !
