Tuesday night – pumpkins everywhere !

Tonight was pretty special/ Our burner friend Andrew and his wife Sarah are still in town for a couple of days They invited a bunch of us over to the cabin they’re renting in Stowe  from our friends Newt and Caileigh . A bunch of our burning man crew came  to carve pumpkins and share a meal It was so much fun seeing all the approaches. We had pumpkins that opened traditionally from the top, from the bottom and from the pack. The stakes were huge as there were prizes for the best !

we had a great meal and got to talk pretty late into the evening.. So nice to bond around the pumpkins..

I cant even remember who won the carving contest !

I’d really been looking forward to ths day. It was our 3rd group meetign out at the clarks. We’re discussing company culture and there’s no better place for that kind of discussion.   Katie and kyle are wonderful leaders and wonderful hosts. ..   I felt very grateful to the clarks and to our coworkers for showing up to talk.

I truly love these  people and the energy they bring to this company..

Sunday night – New friends and old freinds

Ssarted the day with a very quick hike up to duxbury window

Then a really nice visit to our friend Cara )aka Coco) and her husband Tom’s wonderful house up on camels hump road. I know Coco from burning, but I’ve never met Tom. It was really wonderful meeting tom and seeing their place.  They have a warm and cozy place that sits in a small gorge next to the small creek that runs along camels hump road. It’s got great waterfalls and swimming holes and a constant burble of running water. Their dog Hoss couldnt ask for a better place to hang out.
Tom is a play therapist and a fascinating and kind person.. the four of us hung out talking about play,  religion and The Colony which both coco and tom managed to watch.. It was so fun and relaxing.

Later on in the day our friend Sammie V and her husband Souli and their 4 kids came by to say hi. They all live east of the bay area in California. Theire back seeing Sammies mom  Barb and her parter Jim.. Sammie used to babysiit our kids now she’s got 4 of her own !.   We had so mich fun hanging out  with their kids.. Their son Sam was really in to sceince so we had fun playing with the van der graf and tesla coils..    It was gerat catching up with Sammie and Soulie …

Super fun being around all these folks  today !

Saturday night – TechJam !

Today was a fun and busy day. It was the annul TechJam put on by my friends at 7Days. It’s a great meetup  of local tech companies showing their wares and collecting resumes.   Its always exciting and a bit overwhelmign to go there because I run into soooooo many people I know. I love it… and at the same time feel a little strange being able to have only really short fragmented conversations with everyone.
today I was there representing  2.. organization.   Beta was there in force with  our  mobile simulator and 3 of our studyhall demos..  I was also there as part of the FIRST robotics meetup.  It was a huge day for us.. we had robot teams from across the state from all levels.. Middle school First Lego League (FLL) teams, High school FIrst Tech Challenge (FTC) teams and even 2 big robots from FIRST Robotics Competition (FTC). Our friend Cathy had assigned us a perfect place to meet the public. I nice big windowed room right at the entrance of Techjam. We met hundreds and hundreds of people.. and showed them how fun it was to build robots. We had our 2nd annual (I guess !) robot parade which was super fun.  It was a wonderful gatherign for all of us robot folks..

I ran into so many people. My friends Jon wore his “I’m not john cohn’ shirt.    which he wore as a surprise. I have a matching ‘i’m not jon bondy’ shirt  . It would have been really funny if i’d worn that.  Folks always thought we looked alike back in the day.   He’s a cool guy. I also ran in to Eric.. max’s 4th grade pen pal !

My beta friends had a wonderful day.. We had the mobile dome and several of our studyhall demos. The place was pretty packed most of the day.. they were all outside in the most beautiful weather.. a great place to watch the sunset !

I also really enjoyed the  panel with my friend  John Abele and Sarah Kalil

It was a great day !
