Wednesday night – Sammantha’s dad

the plan was always for max to head home today. we woke up at 4am to get him to his flight . it’s been so great having him here

 .

we started the day with the plan that gabe was staying until friday. he headed off to plainfield to visit his friend tom. mid day I got a call from gabe with the sad news that his girlfriend Sams dad, Brian, had just died. it was completely unexpected. Brian lived in portland’s near Gabe and sam but had been traveling when he died of an apparent heart attack.. it was really a shock . gabe immediately turned around and headed back to our house to pack. he knew he had to be there to help Sam. I found him a flight at 5pm .I met him at the house just as he got there and we headed straight to the airport. it was a sad way to end a really good of visit. .

Brian was a really nice guy. Gibbs just started to get to know him.. our thoughts are with sam and her family. she has two brothers and one sister . Her mom lives in LA. The whole family is gathering in Portland This week.…

Diane and I Decided that being outside was the best way to deal with all that had happened. We went up Bolton and enjoy the beautiful sunset. That felt good

We’re thinking of Samantha and her family… Please send them some love

Tuesday night – Olivier Heads to France

Today was the last day of us all being together for this trip so we manage to hang out together most of the day. Max and Gabe went to visit Chris and ‘Kim and then we all met for an early sushi dinner at our favorite sushi place in Williston.

Sushi has become a family ritual for us… Yum!

On the way and we ran into our friend Joanne who just retired from work today!… She just happened to have In her car a photo she made for us of a Sam Stone underwater. She’s an amazing photographer… It was so nice to get this gift from her… Especially on her retirement day!

They were quite a few people gathered for Olivier’s sendoff… And it was really fun to hang out and talk to them all. Afterwards we walked uptown to get ice cream… Then went home and hang out with the boys.Quite a nice evening. It’s been a great visit…

Monday night – retracing

Today was Labor Day… So it was a bonus day off.… Really nice to hang out with the boys. Everybody slept late so DIane and I took a valiant attempt to locate the car keys I lost yesterday.

we took a fast walk retracing our path up the river .. no luck on Finding the keys… It was nice to be out in the woods with diane in such a pretty place 🙂

We spent the rest of the day hanging out with the boys Max have to go home tomorrow so we enjoyed soaking in Being together. Which included eating one of the lions mane mushrooms that Max found on our hike yesterday … yum !
