Today Diane, George and I were feeling 100%.. Diane tested ‘nearly’ negative.. so we took an early morning fast hike up at Dale Ball Sierra Del Norte. They’re still not up to running.. but we walked at nearly a joggers pace. It was a beautiful morning
We spent the day working and hanging out at Max and Beckys. Then we went back to our house picked up Vietnamese food (yum) and listened to George play guitar (he’s good !)
And we binge watched a few more episodes of Dark Wind.. the new AMC mystery series about life and crime on the Dene reservations of this are which was set in 1971. Its beautifully filmed.. and really drives home the discrimination of native peoples .
Another quiet day. George , Doreen , DIane and I took a morning walk to the Farmers market in the rail yard.. It’s a short walk from here. Max and Becky live in a great part of town !
The market didn’t have much, but we saw some interesting public art.
We hung out the rest of the day at Max and Beckys working around the yard. A couple of friends came by.. To talk to Becky and Max.. One of the founders of Meow Wolf Matt King died suddenly a few days back and many of the folks who work there are coming together to remember Matt.. and hold space for him.
our friend Justin came by
As did our friend Chad.. We got take out from cowgirl and chad joined us
It’s a tough time for many of the folks around here now
It was hot today !. we spent time working in max and Beckys garden.. We’re helping to build a pergola for some roses.
By midday the heat was getting to us, so max suggested we take the 25 mIn drive up to the Norsky trail. Its up Artist Road past Hyde Park State Park… in those short miles we were transformed from near 90 degree heat to 54 degree windbreaker weather. We took a beautiful hike in the cool aspen forest
Then we drove back down to summer :-).. that was fun too because Max made homemade pasta with Dianes pesto she’d brought from VT and Becky’s homemade tomato sauce. Yum !
