Tonight was the annual meeting of the FIRST in Vermont board. Our board is drivign the effort to grow FIRST robotics in the Statel. Our fearless leader and board president Mark kindly offered to host the meetign at hois place in Westford. It was a very good meeting… made evern better by Marks wonderful home made pizza
After the meeting we got a wonderful tour of Mark’s Pinball machine collection. Its absolutely amazing. He buys these things and repairs them..from the old electromechanical types tot eh modern electronic. He has a whole arcade !
Amazing !
Equally amazing was when I got home, Diane was out in the garden looking for tomato hornworms with a UV flashlight.. here’s what she found !
My friend and boss Katie had a surprise for us at work.. She just bought a beautiful baby Yak and brought it in to play with.> The baby was so friendly and playful..
Driving to work today was pretty freaky.. the roads were in bad shape from last nights flooding..
High point of the day was having lunch with my old freind Paul.. havent seen him in years.. but he hasn’t changed much.. still super smart.. and interested in everything !
I love reconnecting with old freinds.. .. how come they dont seem as old as me 🙂 ?
This afternoon we went op to see Tim and Jen.. They invited us to watch the live stream from the boat Nate is on in the artic. He’s the video tech for a research vessel looking at deep see geology and see life. It was really mesmerizing.. I think it like 3000 meters down… we watched them take a few specimens of rocks ysing the remote sub.. so cool !
Jen showed us some new pottery art she was doing.. she s so mazing..
From there we went to drop off the CRV at Burlington Muffler.. .. it was about 8:30 at night.. the skies were partly sunny.. suddenly it switched to a total downpour.. As I was driving through Richmond, the streets quickly filled with water and the sidewalks became waterfalls !
By the time we dropped the car and came home. only 30 minutes.. .all the roads into richmond were underwater and closed.. Rt 2, Cochran Rd, Duxbury Rd./. we tried to come back via Fays Corner.. there we found that the small stream that usually runs by the road had come completely over the road.. and it had washed away a good chunk of the asphalt on a section of the Huntington road. We ended up snaking our way through swamp road, Sherman Hollow and Dugway to get back home.
