Whenever the kids graduated from one school too another .. from day care to elementary school to middle school.. we called it the ‘happy last day’// I think it was something the teachers made up to try to keep kids from getting sad,,,
Today was our intern Phoebe’s happy last day at Beta. She gave her presentation.. which went very well.. and we said our goodbyes..
we’re really going to miss her !..
This evenoing we met up with Kyle and Hunter to khike bolton.. it was a beutiful night with our freind Rusty and band playing music as we hiked.. We came down and had a delicious japanese dinner from the food stand and listened to music
With Fluffy basically completed for the season, we got back to our house projects… Our big one for the week is to install wainscotting in the entrance way.. the wall had been destroyed by years of stackign wood there.. we decided to give it twainscotting to match the reso of downstairs. That meant removing the old sheetrock.. Below that we found a mix of ‘modern’ studs and insulation and some stretchboard and horsew hair plaster of the original walls.. Then we marked the studs and qwere ready to install the plywood underwall.
It felt good to be working on anything other than a bus 🙂
Sin ce we didnt get Fluffy to the Clarks party, we still havent had a full test of all of her systems.:driving, Ligts, fire and sound actually running on the generator. We chose today as the day we’d get everything working together… and we decided to invite the public.. It was hard to get a real count but I think we had soemwhere between 70 and 100 people come by to see . It was so much fun to see everythign work and to share it with our friends !
I came home late last night and found a bunch of freshly made samstones on the table drying. Diane rolled them, pressed them and stamped them all. It’s a meditative process which we still do after nearly 17 years I find them really beutiful when they are in this state
