Our friend Tim had heart valve surgery a few weeks ago and has been self quarantining since then ..  Today was his first day. to go out in public. In celibration. Tim, Jen , Diane and I  decided to make a day of it downtown. First stop was another visit to the AI Art Show at the Burlington City Arts. This is the third time we’ve seen the show, and the first for them. My friend Chris Thompson curated the show … and from what i’ ve heard, it’s been the most popular show at BCA in many years. It was really well done.. and perfectly timed given all the conversations about AI going on in the post-chatgpt world.
The show is really fun… thoughtful, provocative.. even fun. .. Great job to Chirs and tall the artists who made this happen !

 

We ended our walk with a nice meal at Asiaana noodle house… It was so great being out with Tim and Jen.. Great to see Tim getting stronger by the day..

Fun day at work today.. two  of my coworkers  Chase and Phoebe took a dare and put their tongues on a small tesla coil. Ouch !

 

Later in the day I had lunch with Zach and Max at Hackkclub.. We’re cooking up a plan to get more high school kids interested in electronics by learning how to build custom printed circuit boards (PCBs). .Like this beautiful example of a PCB in the shape of Orpheous, the Hackclub mascot  by my friend Kevin.. a high school person in Mass. 

  You know hackclub is a special place when you see bumper stickers like this !

This evening we had our freind Carlos. Forley, alicia Genji and their dog Ixu over for dinner. They have. recently moved here from Taiwan. Alicia and Genji speak to each other in Mandarin, They speak to their parents in Spanish and they speak to us in English. Pretty amazing. Right now they are living on Johny Brook road helping raise Icelandic sheep. Now they’re looking for a house.. (I think they found one).. It was fun hanging out with them..    The girls are looking for people to speak Mandarin with.. anyone out there have any suggestions about Mandarin speakers in the area ? Our freind Carly came over to play with the gir;s too !

They  are such an interesting and fun group .!

A couple of days ago, we learned that our friend Rose Leland had died. SHe’d had Cancer for several years. She was a fun and spirited person. We knew Rose and her husband Jim mostly through their kids Connor and Caleb. Connor was a good friend of Sams.. they played soccer together for years.   I remember dropping kids off at their house  after practice many times. Today we went up to see Jim, Conor. Caleb and Caleb’s wife Maggie. It was good being with them in their beautiful log house. We hadn’t seen any of them in a long time. We all talked about Rose and caught up. It was really nice looking at pictures of Roe, Jim and their family  THere was lots of love in that house. We had bread that Conor (I think) had made using his grandmothers recipe. 
It was good being together
