Diane and I got out of the house early to get a hike in up Libbys look. There was still a bunch of snow.. but it was packed down enough we just took spikes and not snowshoes. It was a beautiful day
We found someone’s snowshoe tracks that left a smile in the snow !
Work was fun but uneventful (though Mike brought ice cream.. a guess thats eventful !
After work we had a Land Trust meeting at the town offices then went home and fiddled with the Fluffy cloud models. Diane had an idea from an old game we used to play with the kids that was called Racko.. Involve these racks where you had layers of cards. We arranged the shape of fluffy’s clouds roughly as they were laid out on the passenger and driver side. Diane had found some racks that were similar to the ones we played Racko with . We layered the clouds as they appear on the bus. From that it was immediately cleared some places where we had to simplify the wiring. The light wiring was crossing back-and-forth across the layers making them hard to install and hard to test .it was a fun exercise
Had a busy and fun day. It began with me showing Ian and his fam aroudn Beta.. Ian and Beth have two young kids and it was fun to see what they were interested in .
I spent the evening working a a few side projects. First , I finished the wiring and 3d printing for a an Emotibit biometric sensor a group of us are using on a project.
Then diane and I finished drawign the LED strips on the laser cut models of the clouds from our burning man bus Fluffy. Our goal this year is to make it more robust and easier to put together and take apart. Our hope is to use these small cutouts to look for some simplifications.
It will eb fun to see if these help our simplifications !
Actually.. another thing happened yesterday.. on our hike we ran into two hikers out on the Bamforth trail that were planning to camp out for the night. He was from France , she was Australia, both were studying in Montreal. We noticed they didn’t have snowshoes. We’d just come down from hiking and found the snow too deep to try without snowshoes. The trail was full of “postholes” where people had gone through the thin crust.. it wouldn’t be fun without snowshoes. We offered ours to Viktor and LuLu. Turned out to be a good thing..
Today they came by the house to return the snowshoes. They told us of their adventures which included loosing a cell phone, camping in deep snow and eating cold rice for dinner. They didn’t seem any the worse the ware for it. It was nice getting to know them and showing them around
It was fun meeting them !
nite all, nite sam

at 4:30 this afternoon Diane and I got a text from Max saying he was “going for it”.. took me a second to figure out what he meant.. but when I did, it made me so happy. Max proposed to is long time GF Becky in the Sant Fe dog park. Gabe was I in own for Becky’s 40th birthday party that is tonight and helped Max by filming the whole thing and helping them celebrate . . Max presented becky with the gold ring he’d made himself (3d printed, lost wax cast gold and aquamarine stone) .,, and Becky said YESSSS !..
They are a really amazing match. both crazy smart, creative and adventurous. It has been so much fun watching them build a life together for these last 8 years. They are constantly working on projects together and they have wonderfully complimentary skills whether its building exhibits for burning man or moving walls, doors and windows around their house. We love Becky’s family too..
We are so excited to be welcoming Becky and her family into our own crazy family officially.. even though she’s already been a part of our family for a good long time.
Max and Beck,, congratulations .. We love you both so much !
