Monday night – Dusting off Fluffy’s computer

Today I got around to hooking up the awesome OnLogic K800. , the computer that makes Fluffy shine. This computer runs the LED pixel mapping code that translates video files into the signals needed to drive the `14,400 LEDS on Fluffy’s sides. I retrieved the computer when fluffy finally made it back to Vermont a few weeks back, but decided to get it running today in prep for Duane III’s visit. Duane III is making a short ‘making of’ video about  fluffy.. and I wanted to show him how the insides of the lighting worked..  It is still covered with a fine fit. of Playa dust..   Brought back many memories.. some of them good !

Software isn’t visible so folks dont necessarily relate to it as much as the more physical parts of the bus.. but it’s still an important piece.

I’m looking forward to tuning this up for next year !

Sunday night – Stairmaster

Today had some serious ups and downs.. meaning several dozen trips up tot he attic and back to haul packed up xmas decorations up there. I also took advantage of the cleaning mood to clean out 2 drawers worth of accumulated treasure in my dresser.. So many great memories.. pictures. letters, tschotkeis, tools, business cards and  lots of bad pot 🙂 . One of my favorite finds was this small Italian – English dictionary.. one of the 4 small leather-bound foreign dictionaries we had in our house growing up. These four books had some sort of magic power !  I also found one of the memory bracelets we made for Sam. I wore this every day for several years until it broke..

After all that cleaning and climbing we decided to take a longer hike. We dropped a car at the Banforth ridge lot, then drove back to the Catamount train. Then we bushwhacked up a peak we call 2360  up to the ponds a the top, then followsd a ridge down the other side towards the bamforth ridge. It was only 4 miles.. but it was basically straight up then straight down.. Quite a nice workout !

Nice day !

Saturday night – De-corating

Today we started with a quick hike up to Duxbury Window. The falls were so pretty we picked down for a better look

The rest of the day we spent de-decorating. Diane had gone all out on decorating the house for the holiday. It felt special since we had both boys and becky here with us.  It was something all of appreciates. Today came the hard work of putting all of that stuff away ! That included getting rid of some of it.. which is always hard..  SO many memories !
I even burned some of it because I couldn’t bear too put it in the trash

The house is back to ‘normal’ .. and that feels festive too !

Friday night – Meeting Ezra

Fridays are supposed to be my day off, but they are consistently turning into the busiest day of the week for me. That’s when I cram all the hobby and volunteer work I like to do like FIRST , Generator and  VASE. I had meetings for all of those today.. I had a couple of minutes to drop by my good friend Eliot’s amazing studio. I finally got to meet Elliotss almost 2 year old son Ezra. ! What a cutie !

I cant believe its taken me this long to meet him !
