Super chill day.. lots of comings and goings..and we were leaving the fam tonight.. Got to wait nephew Chris (aka Tizzy) .. building an amazing airconditioner that would use melting ice to cool air for his car.. It wa a multilayer heat exchanger with a pup that moved the cold water along the aluminum plates, while a fan blew air across the other side of the plates. It was all 3d printed and beautifully designed and made.. Chris is a natural born maker .. Can’t wait to hear how it works.
Mid a afternoon we had a quick sushi lunch
Then Max took Andy for a ride in the triumph. They both looks good in that car !
About 4 billy had to head out for a quick 36 hour trip to Australia (!) to The real inventor of the Bivacor heart is a guy named Daniel Tim’s who comes from Australia.… The stuff is making huge news over there… So Billy was going down to help train a surgeon down there how to implant the new bivacore heart.
we left shortly after Billy… It had been a very brief and very fun visit.
Max out so had to get back to his hotel. on the way there we stopped at another tech art exhibit… This one was ArtTechHaouse. It’s part of the series of museums from an organization that comes out of Washington DC. This one was much more high consent… If you were exhibits much much better, Curation. And the execution was really superb…
my favorite pieces there were by a young Japanese artist named Shohei Fujimoto. He had some really interesting experiments using projection mapping. My favorite exhibit was a large array of steerable “fat beam” re lasers, two bright white LED strobes and some rhythmic type of drumming music. These pictures don’t do it justice. It was really an amazing piece. I watched it for about 20 minutes.
the rest of the show was fun and powerful too !
after that, we tried to get a bite to eat at a place just opposite the new meow wolf which Max is helping build. unfortunately we were about five minutes too late to eat… But we did get to check out their art cars…T
hen we took a drive around the meow wolf site… They’re just beginning, but it’s a very cool old building and you can see how it’s gonna be a great place for meow wolf. it is interesting. That meow Wolf will be the third art meets tech venue in the town… Though meow Wolf is very different… It’s much more immersive and story driven.… If nothing else this shows how popular this trend of art meets tech is getting.
We were surprised to see how few places were open to eat on a Sunday night… We ended up following a yelp recommendation to a Middle Eastern Pl. in downtown Houston. It was in a really s padart of town. … Lots of unhoped people. I never really been in downtown Houston at night… It was like something out of it dystopian movie.
The food was good though
we said good night to Max . I’m so happy to see how he moves through the world… He’s an amazing human.Diana and I drove out to the airport and our airport hotel got some sleep… We had a very early flight the next day
