My freind Kyle M arrived today from California. .. (I have so many kyles in my life at the moment.. ) While I’ve only met Kyle F2F only once, we’ve collaborated on software for Fluffy over the last year and a half. Kyle is a wizard at a software tool called touchdesigner that I’m slowwly learning. It’s used in lots of interactive settings.. eg Meow WOlf uses it extensivly. 

Kyle has been workign on a new add-on to fluffy that could improve the music control of fluffy’s lights. He’s never gottten to see his stuff work on fluffy.. so Kyle, his middlebury freind adam and I grabbed a quick dinner and headed down to fluffy. THe goal was to allow them to see fluffy lit up.. and to try his software. 

It was fung getting to see kyle getting to see his work !

 

We made a plan for his short visit.. insteaf of working on the music control. Kyle began working  to help us create a better remote control expereince. 

 

THis is gonna be so great !

Got an early flight home.. happy to have time for a run in hthe afternoon. I just the 4 days we were gone the firens at the fivershore have gone from tiny eadible sized fiddle heads to adolex=scent prehisoric trees. 

We always marvel how this part of the river side goes from moonscape barren to tropical jungle in only a couple of weeks !

We had a nice run this morning.. and checked out soem more cicadas ,, then walked a festival in apex .. all within walkign distance of our place 

early afternoon we headed to Daxtons party.. in a brewpub nearby. It was so fun. Lots of pina and vics freinds from school.. lots of patty’s relatives and lots and lots of pinas family from colombia ALl so much fun !

 

One crazy coincidence.. I found out that my sister in law pattys brother Jim’s brother is married to my good ibm freind Susan P.. sucha. small world

 

Afterwards, a quick stop at vic and pinas..

 

THen a nice take out sushi dinner on our porch 

 

heading home early tomorrow. Glad we came !

We had n easy day around RTP today.. I dropped DIane off at Pat’s sister Cathys .. . whihc had a great sound of cicadas 

 

I made a quick visit to BETA RTP whch was great.. I’d never been there and got to meet some of the great folks there !

 

Then I dropped in on Building 500 of IBM.. I used to come here very often for IBM work. I found my freind Joe and walked aroudn the buildings. Very quiet on a Friday.. but it felt good to be back. lso ran in to my freind Raj

I met up with diane, joe and pat for a great lunch at a local brewery..    After that we headed to a culteral fair back near Apex .. then a nice sushi dinner with my girl.. only a short walk from our airbnb.. than a walk around town..

Apex is a really sweet place !
