Saturday night – kale for breakfast

Dianes gardens re really producing now.. We have lettuce, kale, asil. asparagus, berries.. We start every day with a smoothy.. it’s a great way to get your Kale quaota for the day

I get a new yorker cartoon by email every day or so.. and this one turned up.. I did a little checking on our hot sauce inventory and this was spot on.. Sent it to Max and Becky who are also hot sauce aficionados
.

We spent several hours at Fluffy today getting her ready for an upcoming event on July 3rd.. and longer term getting her ready for her next ride out to the desert.
I spent some time checking out the fire rig .. there are a few small improvements I want to make for operations and safety. Posting these pics here to remind me what I intend to do

Nice quiet day

Friday night – No catepillers

GOt home from NM tonight around midnight.. That was enough time for DIane to go out to check for tomato hornworms. We created a cool way of looking for them. I have a powerful UV (aka blacklight ) flashlights. The hornworm caterpillars fluoresce bright green when the beam hits them !   Fun for us, but bad news for them..

No  monsters tonight.. but the house did look spooky. Our grandnephew Mason and his family were staying in the house for a few nights while we were gone. He loves playing with the smart lights..   Kind of a cool look for the house !

Nice to be home

Thursday night – no debate

We had another quiet day at the casa.. I got out for a run.. and could still feel the thin air.. but it felt great to get some exercise.. I really miss it when I dont get some every day

THis was our last day in Santa Fe.. We’d originally planned one night of camping with Max, Becky and their friends.. but that didn’t sound like a good idea given covid.. no worries though, we’ve had a really nice and peaceful time.. we have a hot tub. which made things pretty relaxing >
So relaxing that after 3 minutes of watching the debate, I turned it off.. It wasn’t going to help me relax.

Tonight we opted for another socially distanced dinner. We needed  one more dose of Southwestern food. Becky picked up SW food from Atrisco down the road.. it was really delicious.. Wiane and I ate inside, max and becky ate outside of the wide oe double doors

Its been so nice seeign Max and becky.. they make us feel really welcome.. and they are both such interesting and loving people.

We love you guys !

Wednesday night – lying low

Diane was feeling a little better today .. so we decided to take another socially distanced walk.. we walked up to the Railyard and checked out a new interactive art collection called “the Art Vault’ .. it exists because a wealthy patron created the space , invites the artis.. and subsidized the vists.. it was free.. and worth much more.

The pieces were more subtle and more artistic than the pieces we saw the other day at currents  a couple of days ago

Despite covid, We were determined to find ways to hang out with Max and Becky.. We opted for a very socially distanced dinner at their house…

We also got some good doggie time.. with violet and her best freind and next door neighbor  Lando .. whos moving away in a week or so

We opted for Great afro/carib  takeot from Jambo.. So tasty !
We learned the same chef is opeing another caribean lace up where max and becky used to live.. Definetly want to try that

It was so great hangign out with Max and becky if even at a distance.l
Max was loving the new hammock that my mom got them as a marriage present

A different vacation than we planned..
Still a very good one
