Thursday night – DON8LYF

I had to go to Saint Albans today for work. Before I went, I had to go pick up some signage for shannon. When I was at SB signs, I noticed one of the cars had the license plate DON8LYF. I recognized it as an organ donation sign. I asked the folks at SB  about the story. It turns out that the owners one-year-old daughter, got a liver transplant, which saved her life.… While we were talking about it, one of the other folks who worked at SB, Ben, recognize the sandstone that I had in my hand. He knew sam!… It was a really nice connection

We had yog soup night today because the waether was too bad on monday. Always nice to see folks. Our old freinds Tom and Meg came.. Tom lived here in the house  about 40 years ago (!)..   we actully still have his speakers which are more than 50 years old !

it was great catching up

Tuesday night – Lochie and Cass

This morning  Kyle got us all together on a call to tell us the very sad news that our friends Lochie and his fiancee Cass died in a small plane accident in california on Sunday. There were to other people killed in that crash.  We are all in shock…

Lochie was one of our most loved BETA folks. He was an Alia test pilot and could fly anything with wings or rotors. He was also on the flight sciences team and was a brilliant aeronautics engineer. He’d left BETA early in the year to go to another comapany, but had just returned to BETA.

Lochie’s  fiancee Cass was well known in the burlington arts and business scene. The two of them were friends with many people here….    They will both be so missed.   Theres a memorial planned forSunday  Jan 28th that will be half at Hulu where Cass worked and half at BETA..

One  memory I have of Lochie is around the flight Alia made to Bentonville  AR in 2022.  Lochie flew the last leg of the the flight and had a Samstone with him. It meant so much to us.. I wrote about it here

Rest in peace Lochie and Cass.  you will be so missed !
