There’s somewhere between. fotr and a foot and a half of snow out in the woods.. We took advantage of the fluff by doign our first snowshoe of the season.. We hiked up bamforth ridge trail, then forked off to bushwack up Gleason brook up into the woods. .. We like takign this loop up that way, then crossing the brook and hiking back through an old overgrown logging road we found that we call ‘sheep shoot’ . we like imagining it being used to move sheep from pasture to pasture over 100 years ago when all the land here was bare and used for sheep farming. It’s a pretty strenuous hike with lots of ups and down ..
I took advantage of the rest of the day to clean out my closets and drawers.. It had been needing it for a longggg time

We are still enjopying the freshness of a new year.. Still easing in .. wtih a pretty empty calander.. savoring it while we have it
Diane and I got weekday passes thsi year for the Sleepy Hollow cross country ski area thats just a few miles away in Huntingron. THis is the first day Iv ebeen there in.. .. 3 ? 5 ? 10 ? years.. Its a beautiful place.. We used to come here pretty often. I remember coming here in 1981 !
YOu would think that if I have been skiing for that long i’d be pretty good by now..
guess again. I’m still a green/blue trail skier.. I love it for the exercise.. but not a huge fan of going fast downhill . Today was a great chance to get used to the place. I love doign uphills..!

Diane and I took an early hike up near the bamforth ridge trail we bushwhacked up soem old logging roads until we intercepted the long trail and cam down. I love hiking in early morning like that
After work today.. My freind Tyeler came to test out a new demo i’ve been workign on. It’s easier for me to build it hwere at hone. It was fun having him over and getting his input. It’s almost (finally) done !
