My friend Peter Habitz died a couple of weeks back and was buried today at the Hinesburg Village Cemetery . Peter was a good friend from many years of workign together at IBM. Peter was a joyful, energetic and very opinionated person. he was wicked smart.. but still down to earth.. he had a great sense of humor and mischief in at least two languages.. he always whore a bright whute shurt, llong khaki pants and biirkenstoks over white socks.. he drove fast cars.. most of them red if I recall correctly. I remember iobe f tehe last one of the last ties I saw him.. he was out drving around in his red audi with his charming .. (and i once told her ‘pixie-like’) wife Mary Ellen..,.
I vividly remember one of the last times I saw hpweter, he told me that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease.. he was stilll driving.. fast .. and was dtermined to make the best life possible for him and mary ellen while he still could
the gathjerign today was small.. a few relatives, soem neighbors and abotu 15 of us from IBM.. THere were a few prayers at the grave, but mostly nice talks from people who loved peter.. THere were soem very funny stories.. some I couldnt even repeat here.
It was a beutiful ceremony..
After the ceremony all of us old freinds went to the Hinesbugh House Pup and shared memories of peter. even thoguh it was a sad event .. The spirit was good and fun..

thats certainly the way peter would have wanted it !.
