So the big news this week on the house is that the back chimneys have started tofail and come appart. Earlier in the week we had our freinds from the slate company come by for their annual repair of our very old.. but wonderfuly solide slate roof. They took the tqwo chimneys down and capped the hole

now the problem is how do we vent our boiler that used to use one of those chineys. There were no good options here.. we wanted to avoid an ugly metalbestos chimney on the outside of the house.. so we opted for the next less terrible thing.. a vent through the side of the house. Not much fun to put in. I had to remove abotu a foot of old wall, and insullation intil we could get close enough to the outside wall to install the fireproof fent.. A dirty job before work 

Diane s gardens are in full magnificance these daya.. its such a joy to have it like this.. we’re always gettign nice comments and waves from the folks who drive or cycle by.  Its so much work. for diane.. but worth it , everyoen knows this house as the house with the gardons.. not the house with the creepy bell tower.. 

yoga tonight was fun.. after yoga we had a small party to mark Marthas 64th birthday and her long awaited retirement.. 

All these retired folks around me now.. how do they find the time to be retired ?!?!

diane cleaned out the fountai today with a little bleach to kill the gunk that was grwing in there.. and even though there was no soap involved whatsover .. it foamed up.. any ideas why ?

busy day at work.. took soem tiem to walk from S40 oaver to CMC where Skuk, Clair and freinds are working on Loop. Its abotu a minute and half walk from the front door of S40… they are making amazing progress.. and they have sooooo much more to do. Hope i can help them some I

The reason I came back last night.. instead of stayign to the end of undercity.. is becuase this was the last day we could all get together and get fluffy’s passenger side clouds up and tested. The driver side clouds have been on for the last year..    and have been used at several fluffy events.. but not the pasenger side.. we havent put them up since the door to fluffy hoem for the year had a an 11 foot wide door, not wide enough for both sides to have  clouds>

this has worked ok.. but the passenger side clouds have not been on and tested since fluffy was on the playa last year.. and several clouds cgot broken on the trip back to reno

We were  ble to get the clouds up and blinking in less than three hours. which is fantastic givent that it used to require 8 hours (eek !) 

the funny thing is , now we need to take down the clouds from both side and prepare fluffy for the trip out to the desert !.. still it was something we had to do  and we were glad to get it done

one cool thing that happened today is that Skunk and Claire Delux came by to see us.. I’d met Skunk on line a year or so back. but never meet either of them face to face. They are workign on another burning man art project called Loop   which is goign to be a huge human sized hamster wheel.. Its so good to meet new people doing the burning man art thing here in our same town.> I’m goign to see If I can help them a bit on their lights.. .. thoguh i’m pretty swamped between work and fluffy.. 
they are buildign soemthign really beitiful !

 I slept on the floor last night like everybody else. I think I got 3 hours total.. which was enough. THe rest of the day was a very fun blur. Meghanna and I doeld out parts for anyone who needed them.. and I di lots of circuit consulting.t. there were folks there   with every ability and experience .. from those who were  absolutely new to hardware design to high schoolers that were much better at it than I am.. 

I had a great tiem trying to map my mind and advice to all the differnt skill levels and the varieus projects they were tryign to do

I got to stay unitl about 7PM.. when I had to head to the airport for my overnight flight back to BTV>.  I got to help alex teach a class on surface mount soldering before I left.. which was fun since i’m kindoa new to it myself 

I was there long enough to be able to see soem of the projects people were making.. and they were amazing  !

One additional treat was getting to ride in a driverless waymo.. the futre is behind us 🙂 

so glad I made this trip !
