Friday night – hairs cut

I looked at myself in the mirror yesterday and realized I hadn’t had a haircut in a very long time. Now I don’t have a whole lot more hair to cut, but occasionally even I think I’m starting to look a little wild. I went in to see my good friend, Deb caught up with her and got several inches of scraggle  cut off.

Oh, you accident

now Ilook sort of respectable.. feels kinda funny 🙂

Thursday night – Uplifting

Super busy day.. one interesting interlude… You may remember that a couple of weeks ago a bat (we think) flew through one of the front windows of our house and broke it. The bat muust have made it through ok .. as there was no sign of it. Unfortunately , the window was in onfe of the big windows over the door of our house.. impossible to reach by ladder from the front of the house . T

I was able to reach the broken glass form the  inside by climbing to the tippy top of a 10 foot ladder.    From there I was able to clean out the broken glass and remove the old putty.   The  catch is, you cant really replace a pne of glass from the inside. I spoent soem time thinkign of makeshift ways to seal the window for the winter.. everythign from cardboard and tape to a piece of polycarbonate that I could feed through the windo, then pull into the frame with cls.. but there was no other way to set a real peice of glass than to reach it from the outside.

I tried all sorts of ladder configuratiosn from the front step.. but the window was just too high up.. and it was over the sloped awning over the front door which was too steep to stand on.. and probably wouldnt hold my weight

we thought of all sorts of alternatives.. everything from buying scaffolding to rapellign down the house from teh tower..

but today I had a brainstorm. We had some folks from a tree company coming by to trim the cedars next to Duxbury Road as well as to see what they could do to try to save the locusts in front of our yard. They are both getting quite old and are starting to split.… We’re hoping to get a couple more years out of them.

The tree guys came and I asked them if for a small bribe, they would let me use their bucket loader, which was really the only way to reach the broken window. Luckily, they agreed and in 20 minutes I was able to put on a harness, get up on the lift with one of the tree guys and place the window and put it.… I’ve gotten pretty fast at doing that considering there’s almost 500 panes  of glass in this house.

Igot down .. and the guys worked on saving our trees.. whixh Ithink they were able to do

fun way to spend the morning.

Todays the day. BETA did our IPO today. Kyle got to ring the bell down at the Stock Exchange on Wall Street in NYC> About 150 people were chosen by lottery to go on a chartered plane down to the city.a bounch of others drove down. some flew down by small planes, soem freinds even went down by helicopter. THe resto fo us were watching from S40 in VT, from Montreal, and North Carolina. It was really fun. We got to watch on the big screen what was goign on down at the stock exchange.

Here’s what we saw from th grand hall of S40

the place went absolutely wild when kyle rung the bell. WIth him were his family and some  of the 8 original beta employees.. as well as Chcuk. out board chair.

su h a great day.. now everyone is watching the stock to see what happens. I have my fingers crossed !

the other fn thing that happened today is that after work Iwas able to help Derricka dn Tucker get the fire organ going. Its goign to be one of the main attractions at the CHC party this saturday. The fire organ was given to me by one of Max’s old perfessors. Diane and I rented a box truck and drove it home. For a whaile it lived at John Cleary’s ware house. then we had it at noordic dfarm.. finally when we were kicked out of there, Igave it to my freind Derrik. over the weekend, Derrick, Chis and tucker got it back to CHC and we hooked it up. It’s really very beutiful
