Today I got a message from spotify (along with everyone else) abotu a reposrt they did on your listening habits for the past year.. the big takeaway is that they guessed my age to be 25 due to my listenign chices.. I think thats ore of a reflection on their algorithm than it is on my listening tastes.. but whatever.. here’s what their algorithm said about me.
Diane and I got in a quick hike up preston brook off of mamforth.. its nice that the road is now open again after being closed for about 6 weeks
Beckys brother Dan sent me this picture he’d doctored usign geminii.. its of all of us with my beard.. pretty awesome !
Today was pretty cool. I gave another talk on The colony (seems to be resurfacing in my life after 16 years !).. THis was to my friend Michaels 7th grade Civics class in Ontario. Michael has been using The Colony as a chapter in his classes for more than 1 years. Most years I meet with the class to talk about ethe h experience and answer their questions. It was soooooo fun. I love seeing the colony experiment through the eyes of the students.. especially in light of current world affairs . Due to tougher privacy laws, i wasn’t able to see the students, but I could see Michael.. and I could see soem of the VERY cool projects and pictures the students made as part of their unit
Its getting to be winter at home. it was 9 degrees F when I got home. Diane and I took advantage of the snow and took a night time ski..
after the ski, I spent soem time re-wiring a minion inflatabelfor my freinds holly and ed.. I love that folks think of me for geeky repair jobs like this
This morning was so cool. our CEO and my all time hero Kyle Clark presented in a panel to the house transportation and infrastructure committee. As always , Kyle crushed it. He was able to describe the technology, the opeprtunities, the economics.. and the needs that BETA and the industry have for clear and predictable regulations. He made us all so proud.. he always does !
Rest of the day was fun.. i’m doign a very cool data project.. new stuff, new people. new sceince.. I love thahse aspects of my job !
Cant go in to that in detail here.. of course..
but I can show this very sunny proof that ooutside lunches are not happening this month 🙂
Its been a great trip.. travel home was complicated due to delays.. but we made it home finally after midnight..
we left early after a quick goodbye to max, becky and violet..
That meant hangign out in the tiny but cute Sanat Fe airport.. the tile in the bathroom had a destinct pattern known in my trade as a “non-slicing” architecture. its commonly comes up when doscussing the placement and wiring of components on a silicon chip. It got me thinking of an important paper by one of my heros.. Prof Martin Wong .. which got me thinking of one of my giggest heros.. my PhD advisor Prof Rob Rutenbar… I sent this pciture to Rob with a note saying how much I appreciate everythign he’s done for me and for our field over the years.. what a guy !!!!
