We left about 7am .. and took turns driving.. 

we drove about 8 and a half hours until we got to State College where our good freinds Kate and Steve live.  We met them early onn when we moved to Pittsburgh for grad school. Max was about 6 weeks old . Their son Matthew and Max have been close freinds ever since. 

It was so great seeing them

while we were there Matthews wife Caroline called with  their two kids Anna and James. .. Anna knows us.. she saw diane and said “where’s the boy ?”

We had a great meal.. takled late.. tehn headed to bed.. 
We’ll start driving tomorrow..
