Today is the beginning of the Consumer Electronics Show.. one of the biggest trade shows in the world.. I heard this year 140,000 peopkle are going. I have a big interest this year .. my friend Lisa from AMD is giving the kick off keynote.. . AMD has been an amazing sponsor of our work at Hackclub.. and we are SO grateful. In mid December, AMD and Hackclub put on a hardware AI hackathon we called Prototype. THe entire event was organized by Hackclub members .. all under 19 years old or younger. I helped with the organization and spent 72 hours there beign the hardwre supply guy. THe goal was to use an AMD AI PC and an open osurece robotic arm to do some incrediible things.
Tonight Lisa chose to end her keynote by bringing the three winning teams from the hackathon to CES.. and braought our first place team up on stage !. This team built an amazing ‘drink machine’ that used ai to drive the robotic arm to randomly choose a soda type, find the corresponding by AI viaion, pick up the correct can and deliver it to the user. Like all the other projects at Prototype this project was done in less than 3 days. I was so porud for the hackclubers and what they accomplished.. and so very grateful to Lisa and AMD for showcasing the need to build more AI hardware talent in this country.
I felt so good watching this.. not because we did it.. but because it allows us (hackclub) to expand our efforts to help even more kids fall in love with hardware design
I’m really enjoying this full moon.. and i’m also enjoying my new phoen and its camera.. This is a non retouched picture..
we’ve come a long way !
I spent the day workign on projects for work and fun..
