Saturday night – FIRST kids and Lantern Festival

Today was our first FIRST Lego League scrimmage ! we had hundreds of of kids and their robots in the Shelbourne Community school. It was amazing  to see all the excitement and creativity.  The school was also filled with dedicated adults : parents, coaches, judges. Its a magical combination !

Thanks to  our state coordinator Joe and our Board.our Organization FIRST in VT has doubled the number of Vermont kids participating in FIRST

I left so inspired..  I think you would to ..
We have several more of these scrimmages and competitions coming through the year.. I’ll try to announce them ahead of time.

Late this afternoon Diane, Jen. Tim. Deb and I headed to Waterbury for the annual festival of lights. It was a beautiful night with a dusting of snow.  before the parade, the town turned off the street lights.. then the town filled with lights.  Kids and adults walked through carrying handmade lanterns. Some were simple. some  were mazingly complicated.

The parade had such a nice feel.

As soon as it was over, we headed back to Richmond .

Our friend Gizzo and Lauren joined us for chili and stinky cheese !

nice night !

nite all, nite sam
